Zavvi and WarnerShop for the UK both have it still set for the 2nd November ATM. Do you know if that delay is on all orders or just new ones?

All. I ordered within hour of it being listed on HMV (which was the first, or among the first, retailer to do so in the UK), and my copy has been put back to the 16th.

WarnerShop has never had a date for the Steelbooks, only for the regular set (whose date remains the 2nd everywhere).

WB Shop (UK) just charged me, and the status has changed to "Awaiting Dispatch - Pre Order"

Same here. Here's hoping they come soon, as I was hoping to be charged next week...

Prob what bestbuy does with an authorization charge to see if you can pay for it still. They just want to know if they need to contact you for an updated payment.

No, it's actually come out (and is on my latest CC bill). And worse, it seems the UK release has been kicked back to mid-December, so they've essentially taken it two months early!

EDIT: Has the US release been delayed at all, or is it just the UK that Warner have shafted?

First shot I've seen of the inside of one of Steelbooks. This is from the UK version, but I'm pretty sure they'll be the same images worldwide.

Also confirms that it won't be the worst form of stacked discs. 2-by-2 discs with overlap, which is a definite step up from the Season 8 Steelbook.

Season 8 will likely still be a stacker though, since 8x 4-disc sets would house only 32 of the 33 discs. I'm guessing the first seven seasons will be nice 4-disc steels and season 8 will be a horrible stackfest of the remaining 5 discs.

Season 8 only has three discs. Not sure what they are doing with the Conan special & Season 7 Conquest & Rebellion discs though.

Season 8's steelbook won't be the same layout as the one released in December 2019 as there will be no standard Blu's in this one.

I would imagine the Conquest & Rebellion would go with S7, as per the regular blu release, and making it a 4-disc set like S1-6. That leaves the three for S8, as you say, plus two remaining bonus discs - which it would make most sense to bundle in S8's steelbook. Effectively changing the 3x UHD + 3x regular blu layout of the original release to 3x UHD + 2x regular (bonus) blu. I could easily see it then being the same layout as before.

Would be pretty horrible to have the two bonus discs loose when everything else is housed in the steels.

Of course given the huge number of BD-100s in this set it's possible they've just moved some of the bonus content onto the main discs.

This is my most anticipated release of the year, and I pre-ordered it last night out of fear that it might be OOS on release date. Kills me that I can only have it shipped. I can't risk such an expensive item being delivered outside my door where anyone could come steal it. I had no choice but to have it ship to my parents house in another state.

Ispu option should pop at some point as it gets closer to release, id be surprised if the stores get nothing. You just got to hope your shipment doesnt get locked in before the ispu option pops so you can change it or cancel and reorder. This is not a set i would want to risk being shipped by best buy its too expensive to buy multiple copies- not playing the buy return exchange game with this
