After reading the Parents Guide on IMDb, I'm so happy this movie came out before the adoption of the PG-13 rating. An R rating would've kept it off most TV channels.

I don't doubt your sincerity. But I also don't doubt a forum filled with AV nut jobs that spoon with wave charts in their beds, will use such posts as fule to start a great big dumpster fire.

Yeah I am certainly not posting for AV quality comparison. I didn't even watch it enough except to know "dem titties" are there

Funny....there was discussion of this movie in the Buck Rogers thread just last week with users commenting that they wished it was on Blu.

I'm all ready to see Tanya Roberts in all her 1982 4K hotness

Pre-ordered

This is huge news! I am super excited. My first VS pre-order as well.

I'm a big Don Coscarelli fan, got to meet him a few years ago and he's just as nice in person as you would think.

I noticed Don provided a quote but didn't tweet about this release and there is no news about him doing a commentary. IIRC from his book, he got ripped off on this film and doesn't make a cent from it despite HBO playing it to death. To add insult to injury, the story of the OCN being lost by some attorney is just infuriating.

I hope he does record a commentary and somehow he gets paid. I know he reclaimed the rights to the screenplay (I'm guessing same clueless attorney forgot to renew the copyright) and it would be awesome if Don could direct a reboot of the franchise.

If you like Beastmaster or Phantasm or Bubba Ho-tep then you should definitely check out Coscarelli's book True Indie about his life as a film maker. It's on Amazon and he also sells an autographed copy from his own site for $1 more.

That’s a great book, got my copy signed by Don last year at scare a con along with my Phantasm Arrow set. Him and the cast of Phantasm are all awesome. Don took a pic with my daughter as well with a Phantasm sphere.

Hopefully, Coscarelli had some minor revenue with the Beastmaster TV series (1999), or even the sequels.

That said, I'm sure he will film a kick-ass remake/reboot in the years to come, that would be a dream come true. In the while, I would love to get the sequels on BD as well.

Great book, even.

Coscarelli did record a commentary for the Anchor Bay DVD, so I hope that is among the ported extras VS mentioned. He's also mentioned this release on his Instagram.

I barely remember this movie from when I was a kid. I just watched it online to see if I should jump on this purchase and I think I'm going to pass. It's kind of cheesy. The best actors in the movie were the ferrets. No offense to those who love it, but I'll wait for the original Conan the Barbarian to come to 4k over this.

Tanya Robert alone should be enough of a reason to buy this.
