If you can go see it in 4DX it was amazing never been thrown around as much as I did watching Shang-Chi.
The 3d is amazing too in this film a must buy if it does come out on 3D blu ray fingers crossed
I only went 3D 4DX to see WW84 and didn't like most because i took things and the seat was always moving and i had to be concerned to hold them so wouldn't fall... but on the scenes that had inclined angles the seat would lean a lot forward and gave real motion and feeling that we were in the scene, the vibrating thing was a bit smooth because was there for horse steps and some of the bumps and runnings that WW was doing. Because of the pandemic most of the air/watter effects were disabled.

Yeah, you don't want to talk a whole lot of stuff with you when you go to a 4DX movie.

Those were most home and car keys keys and a little gym sack. I don't like to have keys in my pockets hurting my legs.

Nothing that i can't handle.
That's why i took/take them off... i didn't know much about 4DX and when it started shaking and moving i had to hold them all and ride along.
I had to be careful when i got thirst.

We can only hope it gets a 3D Blu-ray somewhere although and this my own personal opinion and I may be completely wrong the only place that has a chance of getting a 3D Blu-ray release is Japan seeing as black widow is getting a 3D Blu-ray anyways maybe if we all write to Disney Japan and send them a message requesting this movie Shang chi to get a 3D Blu-ray in the same way black widow is getting one we may have a small chance but this is only my own opinion and I may be wrong anyways here’s the link to write to Disney Japan https://disney-studio.jp/inquiry_product.jsp

Better than writing letters, just go buy 2 copies of black widow 3d so it doubles up the sales numbers. You can then sell the extra one on ebay.

That will get their attention much better than a letter.

Great to hear others here enjoyed the 3D, and film also.

The action martial arts in Shang-Chi did not disappoint. Great choreography, fighting flow and good intensity. Simu Lui surprised me with his skill at fighting, which was great to see, having never seen him fight before or act before. He was good as the lead.

The father was a good fighter too, along with Michelle Yeoh, and Shang's sister.
The bad guys too. The bus fight was great and probably my favorite fight of the movie. Then the fight on the exterior of the skyscraper was cool. Reminded me of TMNTs and GI Joe's fight scenes for some reason. Probably the ninjas.

Quick 3D Shang-Chi review: Theater, Cinemark, slightly right seat near front/middle of theater rows. Bright projection.
3D: 8/10. Medium, consistent layers of 3D throughout. Some high medium 3D here and there.
3D Framing: 7/10. Some good 3D shots throughout.
3D Pop Outs: Some fast, fun pop outs of projectiles.

Worth a watch in 3D? Yes.

[Show spoiler]As far as the story, it was mildly interesting. That 30 to 40 minute segment of mostly dialog and flashbacks where they're explaining things was putting me to sleep unfortunately.

And the main monster at the end came out of left field, totally unconnected to everything martial arts based up to that point. That was weird. It's like "Who the heck are these creatures all of a sudden?" Maybe that was explained during that too long explanation scene.

[Show spoiler]Shang Chi 3D:
Martial Arts Action: 8/10. Really nicely done. The Bus scene 9/10.
Amount of Action: 6/10.
End Monster Battle: 6/10. Felt like a different movie.
Acting: 7/10. Good.
Story: 6/10. Not the most exciting story it could've been, but I liked the family conflict. That was good.
Lighting: 7/10. A few too many dimly lit scenes.
Pacing: 6/10. It felt like 30+ minutes of talking and no tension.
Overall: 7/10. Good movie but I would cut out about 30 minutes of explanations to improve the pacing. Some of the explanations were not necessary to enjoying the movie IMO, but slowed it down too much.

I hope to see this actor Simu Lui in more martial arts films. He's very good in this film.

Michelle Yeoh...how was her enunciation and performance in this? I had difficulties understanding her in STD, and her performance in that was pretty wooden.

Thumbs up

watched Shang Chi last weekend in IMAX 3D
The movie itself ist really great. Not a boring and flat "Bad Boy" You can understand some decisions and you can feel with him. The fight scenes are one of the best i ever seen. Very great locations. Your eyes will Love it. Interesting Story with excellent visual effects.
Now the 3D...
I really like the 3D in Shang Chi. The depht is the most time medium and in some scenes strong. Unfortunately not as strong as the most Marvel movies of Phase 3.
BUT Nevertheless i enjoyed it. I didn't notice any popouts. The IMAX format defenetly help the 3D effect. In this movie there are no aspect Ratio changes. The whole movie is in the IMAX format. The Chance for a IMAX format at 3D Blu-ray is unfortunately near zero.
But if a 3D Blu-ray will released, everything else is never mind.
I wrote Disney Japan. Hope and pray for a 3D Blu-ray for this genius 3D Movie.

huh? I'm trying to figure out your logic here, bad, in that the chance to see this in 3D will be it's theatrical run only, yup, that's how it will go down...

I saw this in IMAX and I thought the whole movie in 1.90 aspect ratio on a three story screen was incredible. I'm toying around with the idea of going to see this again, but in (2.39 AR) 3D / Barco 4K laser.

Because i dont need the full screen in the dialog scenes.
Its better 3D but the price is too High. I watch the movie one time at the IMAX and multiple times at Home.

Edit: i changed the post because if you watch the movie in an IMAX it is really awesome.

Don't you mean phase 3? Phase 4 is where we're at.

Shang Chi was a really good film, an improvement over the previous MCU film, Black Widow, in practically every wat, including 3D. The 3D is the best I've seen this year, thus far! Hopefully Spider-Man: No Way Home has superior 3D;

oh thanks for the clarification and reply.

I just think it's nice that for once an IMAX 'experience' is not reliant on constant AR shift/changing, to be a consistent full screen presentation was perfect.

even though I'm in AMC A-list member, my favourite theatre is doing free movies all day today, including this in 3D on one it's four prime ICON-X screens, hey ~ I'm there...
