I think that after the several Shout Halloween 4k uhd releases slated for next month, this is the next release I am most excited about, and probably Silence of the Lambs after that. While I'm excited to see Carlito's Way, Clockwork Orange, and (hopefully) Highlander making their 4k debuts, I'm a horror fan at heart. This is a really solid 70's paranoia horror (albeit a remake) that can look much better than the current transfers, and it truly deserves the 4k treatment.

Damn this release is stacked! Gonna hold off on a pre-order, as my local shop gets Kino UHDs in on release day and I'll grab it then. Gotta say though, cannot wait. This is one of the best movies made in the '70s and one of the rare instances where the remake outdoes the original (although I do love Siegel's version myself and it's also a great film, the remake built upon ideas that were only really hinted at in the original).

You scared me! It shows out of stock on Kino because it always has, because it's not out yet, you can still preorder it though lol. But ya dude what the heck is up with the pricing lately, and not just with Amazon always. There's no good reason any standard release be it blu ray, 4k, steelbook, or not should approach $40! I swear the prices just keep creeping up, they need to normalize at like $20 or less for bluray and $30 tops for a 4k steelbook.

I had the same thing happen with a couple Vinegar Syndrome titles that I got on the week of release. The response I got was that they didn’t get them with slips and that slip covers are never guaranteed…. Last edited by AKORIS; 09-17-2021 at 01:33 AM. |

Best U.S. domestic retailer of home video, hands down. Some may say Diabolik, but they take your money upfront and cancellations are a b**ch. And I’ve never once had a preorder from BullMoose not come with a slipcover and I order from them A LOT.

I mean, 4K only represents about 5% of the physical media market share. These editions, sorry to say, are likely going to get more expensive as the market for UHD is pretty niche. I've paid $40 (CAD, mind you) for tons of titles. At least it's not like the laserdisc days (or the early days of VHS) where titles were like $89.99. And this was the '80s/'90s. They'd be well over $100 now if you adjusted for inflation.
