Hawkeye, first two episodes. They were pretty good.

Before that I had finished Arcane the other night, which has stuck with me for a good bit. Not only was it a great story, it looked so beautiful. Caught me by absolute surprise.

After owning it for years, I finally got around to beginning to watch Star Trek: The Original Series - Season One. So far, I viewed the first four episodes:

The Man Trap - Decent start to the series, and nice intro to Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. Nothing too special, but it was okay. I'd say 5/10.

Charlie X - An improvement over the first episode. I liked the actor (I think his name was Robert Walker) who played Charlie, and I've really liked the blonde actress who always wears the red skirt outfit an has a cool, very '60s haircut. Can't remember her character's name and I don't think she ever becomes a core cast member, but she's really solid. I liked the interaction between her and Charlie. Just a really fun episode that breezes by. I'd say 9/10.

Where No Man Has Gone Before - Fun enough episode, with one of the helmsmen gaining telepathic and telekinetic powers (I think they call him an "ESPer"). Decent acting, and brings up some moral questions for Kirk, leading to arguments with Spock. Good episode. Probably a 7/10.

The Naked Time - Starts off strong on some sort of frozen planet, and some sort of virus starts spreading amongst some crew members upon their return to the ship. Funny seeing Sulu going crazy with a fencing sword. While it's fun, I didn't take away much from this episode, and would just say it's slightly above average. Maybe a 6/10.

More Star Trek: The Original Series - Season One...

The Enemy Within - Kirk deals with a doppelgänger. Solid episode, featuring a nice dual performance from William Shatner that actually impressed me quite a bit. The woman I referred to in an earlier post is the character "Janice", and she was also solid in this, once again. I was a little shocked at how risqué the episode was at times, like when Kirk encounters her in her room. I was surprised that scene played out how it did. Nevertheless, a really good episode...I'd say 9/10.

Mudd's Women - An interesting episode that feels like it somewhat exploits women and yet takes a feminist viewpoint at times. It's interesting to say the least, and the three main women are quite good-looking. The major drawback here is the absolutely horrible acting from the Mudd character. Whoever that actor was, he was just terrible, and really detracted from the episode. I'd call this one below average...3/10.

What Are Little Girls Made Of? - Good episode, although here to the Enterprise has to deal with another Kirk doppelgänger. The alien "Ruk" was interesting, and must've been a giant cause he towered over the rest of the cast. The episode had some interesting ideas regarding cloning and androids and immortality and stuff like that. An above-average episode. Probably...7/10.

Miri - Basically the crew finds an "alternate Earth" whose population consists of a bunch of seemingly delinquent children, and is trying to figure out what happened on the planet and why the children are behaving the way they are, with the goal of helping them. Kind of funny at times, and it was neat seeing a young Michael Pollard as the head of the child gang; anyone whose seen Bonnie and Clyde would recognize him immediately. Fun little episode. 7/10.

Dagger of the Mind - Another neat episode involving a penal colony and possible escaped convict. Man, William Shatner makes out with a different chick almost every single episode. And I'd also add that almost every woman that appears in these shows are of the "buxom variety." It's glaringly obvious that's something the producers looked for when casting. That said, solid enough episode. 7/10.

The Corbomite Maneuver - Decent, but not too memorable. 4/10.

The Menageries Part One + Two- Pretty awesome two-parter written by series creator. Features first appearance of Christopher Pike, who I'd heard of in the current series. 9/10.

The Conscience of the King - Weird episode. 5/10.

The Conscience of the King - Weird episode. 5/10.[/QUOTE] That is one of my favorites. Glad you are making it through my all time favorite TV show (I have most of it on LDs, lol). After watching Discover and DS9 on Prime during the pandemic, I am rewatching my Star Trek BDs. Went through TOS and TAS, last night I fell asleep on fourth episode of fifth season of TNG. Will have to finish that up.
