The only Blu-ray we did that I know for sure that had hidden Easter eggs I don't think anyone has found is the Castle of Cagliostro UHD. There are 3 really really cool easter eggs on it, and they're are also not super hard to find if you push around.

The only other company I know that does easter eggs on blu-rays is Shout/Scream Factory, and even then it's equally rare

That is right. Zero grain reduction. A choice which might bite us on the butt, as some shots are pretty damned grainy.

That doesn't really sound like much of a problem to me. I have a few Blu-rays that have a similar thing going on with variable grain between shots (The Land Before Time stands out in my mind; VERY grainy presentation overall), and I like those releases a lot.

Thanks for clarifying, Justin!

Grain is just a part of film. If people can’t handle that fact, they should probably stick to modern anime/film/TV/etc.

One question are the white specks grain or something else don’t mind it either way just wondering.

Not sure SPECIFICALLY what you’re talking about. Some are intentional, others are dirt. We got rid of as many of the latter as we can, but given that we had to literally manually remove such things frame by frame (as the automated tools caused too much damage), there was a limit as to what we could do. Dirt and scratches during certain sequences, such as panning shots or other places where a duplicate section didn’t exist on an adjacent frame had to be left as-is.

This is the big challenge of film restoration in general. You could just keep going indefinitely and spend yourself into a serious hole doing so.

Yes, as he said that's cel dust and other similar anomalies. It's apart of the photography. Not an authoring or scan problem.

Better to have ignorant folk complain and actually satisfy the people who buy physical media for quality. I am super excited for this release already and knowing there is zero DNR is music to my ears!

Yeah, never understood the people that say that grain and dust "take them out of the experience". Like bro, you're watching animation.

If anybody complains about the grain it's because they don't understand. Super good on y'all for going in with a light touch and leaving things how they are.

This is how i wish dirty pair’s blu rays are going to look but sadly dirty pair is in the same boat as the awful dragon ball z blu rays when it comes to grain. I wish discotek had the rights not right stuf. they are very disrespectful to the animators who made dirty pair instead of getting better masters they give us scraps.

Amazon always gives weird estimitates, when pre-ordered items don't arrive on time. Rightstuf got their stock on Tuesday, so one can assume that Amazon will get their stock in a few days and ship everything out...

Honestly I love seeing cel dust, but I'm also weird.

Gonna be hard waiting on a sale to grab this. Wish Discotek could find a Canadian distributor, but it feels like it's just not feasible at this point . It kinda sucks because I feel like Discotek and Sentai have pretty much everything I want, but are the only companies that don't sell their stuff in Canada.
