Target pulled the listing entirely. They didn't cancel my preorder though. I will keep it for now.

Moviezyng has now changed their picture to the BD-R version too, and added this note to the synopsis:

Quote:
Synopsis
Europe will never be the same after Scotty Thomas and his buddies take off for the express to excess! They're hooking up with hot strangers and jamming all the extreme insanity they can into the wildest trip of their lives! No swimsuit, no problem. Let it all hang out 'cause you're diving into the totally wild pleasures of Eurotrip. Note - this is the theatrical release, not the unrated version.

You might as well, it won't end up being unrated. Allied Vaughn is making it for Paramount, and MovieZyng is their storefront... and now that MZ is saying it's theatrical, theatrical is all that'll be produced. This release is going to bomb so badly, it's going to have a ton of cancelled orders and returns lol

I noticed that the other day, and yet they haven't changed either of the ratings section from "unrated", but added text in the synopsis to contradict the ratings lol

I may have been mistaken about iTunes. This website lists iTunes under the Unrated page, but when I check iTunes, I can't find it either.

But Vudu has it...

Enjoy!

Paramount has been on their A game for the last two years, so I'm surprised something like this would happen.

I got this e-mail from Movie Zyng about the release. There's a potential silver lining towards the end:

"We received news from our distributor that Paramount provided inaccurate information regarding their title ‘Eurotrip’ which was announced last week. It was originally stated it was going to be the unrated version. That is not the case. Unfortunately, the title launching on February 15 will be the theatrical version.

Because of the confusion (and knowing most people were counting on it being the theatrical version), our distributor has cancelled all orders for the title and revised the art and metadata for the title. We’ve done the same and have issued a refund on your credit card for that portion of your order including the shipping for that extra item..

My apologies for the confusion – this was something out of our control. Hopefully the refund helps make things right. We’re hearing that the unrated version will become available this year, and will announce on our Facebook page when it does. If you’ve not liked our page, please do so, and you’ll hear about the launch.

Regards,
Blair"

That makes no sense because the theatrical was already available, I bought it not even maybe 2 months ago lol. But good news we may be getting the unrated yet!

Thanks for the update. Hopefully we will indeed see the unrated version later this year.

I think what’s happening is that they’re taking the existing theatrical disc OOP, but keeping it available through BD-R for anyone that wants it for whatever reason (maybe it legally has to be available. I dunno) and replacing the pressed disc with the unrated cut.

I just canceled my Eurotrip order from Amazon, and placed an order for the Warner Archive BD of Hitchcock's Stage Fright, which cost the exact same price, so I didn't even have to change anything in my ledger.

Thank goodness for this thread, otherwise I might have received a theatrical BD-R in the mail and been bewildered.

Looking forward to the hopeful future release of the Unrated.

This is one of the best comedies I've ever watched, a satirical comedy similar to Borat. I highly recommend it.

Do people actually buy BD-R releases? I own a single one because it was a signed boutique release, but I can't imagine buying something that is essentially something anyone can produce at home.

Not knocking it for those who still want it, but I just can't imagine paying money to a huge company for what is essentially a burnt disc.

Maybe the unrated cut will be a Paramount Presents title.

The only BD-R I own is a locally-shot indie horror film, which I had zero confidence in ever getting a pressed release. I’m also open to getting CW’s Nancy Drew show on BD-R, because I’m sure that’s the best we’ll get, but even there, I’d like to get pressed discs if I can.

I think some people were getting pressed discs for Nancy Drew, but some might have gotten BD-R. I think they're being weird about it and doing both and gradually phasing out the pressed so they just mix it up so nobody can say it was pressed at first and the cover always says BD-R... same thing happened with But I'm A Cheerleader.

yeah, sometimes that is all that is available and it's not like it makes the audio or picture quality bad, it obviously has no effect, heck a few of my BD-R have among the upper tier of all my blu rays in terms of video quality and they can always be burned to hard drive for (and they tend to be able to be burned at much higher drive speeds so it doesn't waste nearly as much time as pressed discs do), also I haven't had a higher percentage of bad BD-R than pressed BD, opposite, if anything
