Deadline already told you that a Scream sequel is happening with directors Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett) returning and James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick co-writing the screenplay.

Today Spyglass Media and Paramount made it known to no surprise that the franchise’s new generation of actors are also coming back: Melissa Barrera (“Sam,”) Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Mindy,”) Mason Gooding (“Chad,”) and Jenna Ortega (“Tara”). Camera rolls early summer for a theatrical release around the world on March 31, 2023.

In the next installment, the four survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

Out of all those characters Jenna Ortega was the most likable by far along with Jack Quaid who can’t return for obvious reasons

Hopefully Barrera is the opening kill. Although the last one didn't even have an opening kill, so with the same filmmakers here I'm not expecting much.

They are going to space.

Then move the focus elsewhere. I can already picture what these guys are going to do - "Rebootquel sequel! Hey this is just like Stab 2! Isn't that weird???" Then the ghost of Billy's mother shows up.

They definitely laid the ground work for it in Scream 5 - there were multiple instances where they reinforced Stu as being being the "forgotten" one, while Billy got all the "glory". Setting up a rather tidy motive for him to want to return.

Given that "Billy" is already (sort of) back, I can easily see them setting it all up for climactic "Billy" vs. Stu rematch.

You can't just disappear someone like that though. Being on the force all those years, it would get back to Dewey somehow, let alone when the murders of 2, 3, 4 and 2022 Screams happened, people would look to Stu as the killer every time.

This is just fan fiction that would be totally stupid if done in an actual film.
