I started playing the GC remake of Resident evil again. That game still has it! Damn dogs...

RE 2 is still damn good as well. Condemned, avp 2, silent Hill 2 are all up there as well.

I had my Bose speakers up and I almost jumped out of my chair because it sounded so real. I have to say the sound effects blows. I also love Resident Evil 4 and Left 4 Dead as well. Peace out boys and wonderful topic.
I wonder how much better it would have sounded on a non-Bose system... just messing man, my parents have Bose.

Anyways, Dead Space is indeed creepy.

I'd have to go with dead space as well, with speakers it's not to bad but throw on my headphones and I shiver and jump out of my skin alot. Fear 1 and 2 are scary as well (but nothing in comparison).

You know, a series of games that I thought was very creepy were the Blair Witch games on PC. Especially if you had a good speaker system! Definitely an underrated series when it comes to survival horror gaming.

Another underrated survival horror title was "Clock Tower." You were chased everywhere by someone called "scissorman" and you had absolutely no weapons whatsoever. It was literally about survival! That was a very intense game as well!

I was playing Uncharted once around 1 am with all the lights off on the living room when I jumped back with the zombies, lol

I hadn't been scared like that for a while.

Dead Space did have some creepy points to it, but i don't think its the scariest by a long shot. The two games i think are the scariest are the Fatal Frame series. About sh*t myself on a couple of parts.

Mine has to be Silent Hill 3. On a side note, though similar one, RE4 scared the hell out of me once, as I was playing it early, around 1 or 2 a.m., and I was in an area around Regenerators (I knew this as it was my third play through) when all of a sudden, a spark happened, followed by the lights shuttering on and off and smoke coming from somewhere. To top it all off, a Regenerator attacked from seemingly no where at that very instance. I almost crapped my pants!

I was playing Far Cry one night...the part when your in that bunker the first time and you run into those weird monster things. The surround sound and all that just freaked me out!! I had to shut it off and watch a cartoon for awhile so I could sleep. Yea....I know I get scared easily which is why I generally don't play very scary games.

silent Hill for me and doom 3 specially the last level where you keep descending down in hell and you hear weird cries and moaning.

just wanted to give out support for eternal darkness that was on the cube. the idea of thing tripping out the more scared your character got is such a great concept. i'm not sure if the graphics can hold up anymore, but i hope something similar is rereleased.

some of the random things that would happen:

your head would explode
you'd start sinking into the floor
blood would start dripping from the ceiling
it'll delete your saved game!

trippy game.
