Annoying that a release date hasn’t been announced yet.

12 Angry Men took almost a year for them to announce a release date (it was Feb 13 last year when they announced it was “coming soon” and I don’t think we got the release date until this January; it releases mid-April BTW). Kino has a lot of announced titles that don’t yet have release dates.

Somewhat off topic, but they mentioned about another title (Little Darlings) that the coming soon announcement would be coming later in 2023. So they’re announcing the announcement now. One announcement with a date is the way it’s supposed to be done, not this stringing along nonsense.

That's most likely the case. Probably with a digital code like some of their other catalog re-releases. The price does seem a little higher than typical for catalog re-releases (which are usually $17.99), so it could be a Steelbook. I imagine the Kino 4K will also come with a Blu-ray with the film as well since there's no rights issues like the Criterion-held titles.

Paramount put minimal effort into their releases , particularly on the audio side of things .

The audio was only lossy because Paramount was dual-format at the time and gave the HD DVD a DD+ audio track and a Blu-ray a DD audio track. When Paramount finally went all Blu, they embraced lossless audio. |
