In that case, I'd assume they'll be using something closer to the two UHD boxsets of the TOS movies that were released over the past two years.

I would hope so. But THIS particular cover art does not have a TBA on it.

It doesn't have to, that's clearly a mock-up using the existing BD boxset art. They're not gonna have RESISTANCE IS FUTILE on the cover, lol

Temp cover. Placeholder.
If you go edit the fields it says temp cover there.

Anyone want to hazard a guess of how much it will cost in $USD? Including the initial cost and then what it’ll get lowered to?

The 6-TOS set started at, what, $125? And it eventually went down to $61 for Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

It exists, but only in the fact that someone dubbed the F-bomb into the audio track.

Just finished Insurrection. It's not a bad two-part episode, but a movie...it's meh.

It’s not just that, there’s also a blatant overdub for the word “shit” when Laredo tells Jason “you are so full of it, man!” in the dressing room at the start. Removing the f bomb I can understand, but you can say “shit” in a PG. weird.

Generations comparison - top is the 2009 Blu-ray, bottom is from the current remastered stream on HBO Max.

If your balls are green.....you might be a Vulcan. (Or an Orion.)

But if you're not, better report to sickbay.

There is fine sharpness!!!

HBOmax's 1080p streams for content with grain can be rather lackluster, although better than Netflix, but the results does seem to vary depending on the title and encode. Digital based content without any grain generally looks pretty good.

For example, DUNC looks like shit at 1080p but the 2160p stream is decent.

I would not make too strong of judgements based on the 1080p streams but with the prior films they will appear softer than the DNR sharpfests of the past. Just wish that some of the extra processing did not cause visual ghosting.
