Sorry I haven't been through this thread. But am I the only one with a 1 second delay on Atmos audio? It's an easy temp fix for me while watching but I'm just checking coz this disc has to go back.

There isn't much to say about excellent picture quality or the 3D which is similar to Fast 9 adding a little extra space and dimension, making it a more immersive experience. I messed up my audio setup for Fast 9 but not this time. With all the explosions there's lot's of bass and LFE shaking my chair about as hard as it's ever been and I was nowhere near full volume. The speakers are nearly all engaged almost all the time and there were times when objects flew over my head. Calling this mix "active" would be a massive understatement.

I didn't think it was possible to get dumber than Fast 8, then they went to space. Somehow Fast X is even dumber without even going to space! The movie feels like a comic book and I understood why when I saw who the director was. "Dumb Fun" was never a more accurate description of a movie. The surprise ending was actually a surprise to me.

This is the Fast saga's "Infinity War". It will be interesting to see if they can pull off their own "Endgame".

I watched this on Saturday with pizza. I did see it when it came out. This is definitely a better movie than #9. While it's still nuts it's not cars in space nuts and there are no self aware characters. S this takes the #7 & #8 plots more seriously. One big thing that bothers me though, is that it bring back Dom's brother in a bay sitting role. But, it's integrated into the plot and Cena gets plenty of screen doing various dangerous things (like jumping out of a plane), while babysitting. The reason this is immersion breaking is because Brian was babysitting in the last movie ("where he needs too be") but we never see him. So that wasn't a very good excuse for him not partaking was it? I think they need to just kill him off, make the revenge the whole plot of a movie. It's too weird how he's still in the group, yet never around. But yeah other than that just turn your bran off for 2.5 hours. The scene near the beginning with the rolling sphere through Rome is really cool. And the action sequences in the last 20 minutes are straight up awesome, maybe the best in the whole franchise. 3D is about the same as $9, so mostly medium but occasionally you get a medium strong shot like down a runway or corridor. No special of course, again, because Turbine. Obviously could use them. Regardless I think these last 2 are worth owning in 3D even though I don't own any other F&F, though I might remedy one day when they stop making them.

I only bought F8 because it's literally an album cover which is unusual. I bought Hobbs and Shaw because I like Statham and when the 3D version came out I. bought that too. I don't have any other F&F movies so lucky for me they are the only two you need to make proper sense of the F9, FX and the upcoming movie.

So if you do see F8 and Hobbs and Shaw they are worth getting to flesh out certain characters backstory.F5 would be a nice to have, but the F9 already explains what happened.

As for FX, it feels dumber than F9 but maybe that's just recency bias.

I think that normally, specials are important for turbine. But the 3D series is pitched as "additional income from people who already got the blu ray" to studios. I think that negotiations would be much more complicated if they included bonus features.

It always throws me when I see extra features referred to as simply "specials". I'd never heard anyone refer to extras as that before this forum lol.

That's right, many of their releases bring together special features from other releases to make an ultimate edition, Breakdown for example. I bought their American Werewolf In London 4K edition because it was a packed 3 disc combo pack instead of a crappy single format release like Arrow's UK editions.

I think of them as "special features" rather than "extra features" but never as "specials".

"Specials" I consider to be a descriptive term for special episodes of a TV show (or movie) like The Star Wars Holiday Special. But that's language for you, ever evolving.

Unlike the last few films in the series, Fast X did not have an extended cut so I couldn't care less about there not being anything else on the disc other than the film.
