If somebody doesn't carry it, it's not specifically because it's MOD.
I mentioned what I said because if you check some of the other recent-ish CBS MOD releases, such as The Odd Couple and Gomer Pyle, they're nowhere to be found on target.com. So I personally wouldn't hold out hope for getting I Love Lucy in a Target sale.

While target.com may stock some recent MOD releases I'm unaware of, there are very few recent releases, if any - I haven't seen any recent MOD discs from Warner Archive/Sony/Shout/Paramount/etc.

So I'm not holding out hope for it being included in next week's sale

When's the last time you looked into this? I saw you mention it before, but I got the impression that Target hasn't had MOD releases on their site for some time.I recall they used to have Warner Archive releases, but did away with them some time ago. I couldn't' find a single box set from a major studio recently released. I looked up complete series sets for Las Vegas, Suits, The Expanse, Gomer Pyle, The Odd Couple, Cheers, and more and found none. Also nothing for MOD 4K releases I looked at. Can you point me to any recent MOD sets on the site?

Maybe they've changed it, I know I've bought some before and had some I looked at before when I was debating about what to buy during their promos.

Amazon usually starts pre-orders at full price then the soufflé falls down down, with time. pre-order is about 1 hour old

From what I recall, Amazon was never much for price matching online only retailers like Deep Discount, Import CDs, and Movies Unlimited. They have tended to price match physical store retailers like Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. Best Buy is now out of the picture, and it doesn't appear that Target or Walmart have it listed yet.

Preordered for my husband! He was so happy this has been announced. I saw some talking about Amazon's shipping being shitty with box sets like the Paramount Scares 4K V2 set. Should I or do I need to ask them to ship it in a box?

When I ordered The Three Stooges set, they shipped that big set in a padded envelope. I was amazed that the set wasn't dinged or damaged. But yeah, I think the odds are pretty high that they will ship in a padded envelope.

What you get stuff in basically comes down to where it's shipped from it seems. I usually get things shipped from either my local Amazon facility or in TN or GA and it comes in bubble mailers, if it's from California it's always the sticky cardboard, and I got Clash/Wrath of the Titans and it shipped from Florida and came in a box.

It's okay. We've all taken one for the team at one time or another to be the unlucky one who buys a DVD set or previous release just before the fancy new one is announced.

Your sacrifice is appreciated.

I said years ago when they tried releasing S1 and S2 individually at something like $99 each when the whole series on DVD at the time was going for the same price that they were way out of touch pricing wise. And sure enough the sales didn't meet their unrealistic expectations and they stopped producing further seasons. Now a number of years later it seems they have come around and gotten their pricing right (actually better than what I would have expected). This is a great price for the entire series.

At least you got the DVDs cheap. Some of us (such as myself) bought the DVDs when they were first released when they cost $40+ per season.

Does anyone know yet if Lucy and the Dummy will still be edited on this set? The old season 5 DVD release edited out the preview of Guys and Dolls. Granted it wasn't actual "Lucy" footage but it'd be nice to have that restored for this set. I suspect it was edited out because of Samuel Goldwyn Films owning the rights to it and not CBS themselves.

I also hope the strawberry scene in the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour is restored.

The description does say that it includes some missing footage, so fingers crossed.
