Is this only going to be a Limited Edition like 2009 was?
Man, I just want a basic release that has Arrow's great features and of course, the unrated cut in full HD. Here in the UK, I just put together a custom boxset and I've had to use the JGTH R-Rated Blu (on the same disc as Jason X) and the old 4:3 open matte Pathe DVD for the unrated JGTH cut. |

I'll be that guy and say I couldn't care less about that cover because I'm waiting for standard editions of whatever F13's Arrow put's out and I'll just flip it to the theatrical art when I have them. It's not like I'm going to buy all of them anyway.

Blood Rage is another insane slasher with some pretty gnarly gore effects. My Bloody Valentine also has some fantastic effects. Just make sure you watch the unrated version and not the R-rated cut. Pieces is another one worth checking out. |

Thanks for the recommendations, everyone. I've already seen most of these (Pieces is another favorite, not just for the gore but also due to the extra Juan Piquer Simon crazy touch), but I think I need to revisit The Burning and Maniac since it's been years and I don't think I've seen them in HD, and I've never seen My Bloody Valentine or Blood Rage.

This is like saying you prefer The Exorcist over The Godfather. Halloween III is it's own thing. If it hadn't been called Halloween III, the film would've been considered a classic. Halloween 4 comes closest, IMO, the replicating the feel of the original. The only thing that separates it from the previous two is the narrower aspect ratio and late 80's aesthetics. Jason Goes To Hell also "suffers" from a departure in tone due to the time it was made and the fact it was made by a different studio but it's still the last 'Friday' film that feels like it could've been made in the 80's. It's not a perfect film by any stretch but there's enough to enjoy in it. I also don't get why it's disliked so much.
