Yeah, where's my Betamax release!?!?! These goddamn companies!

Basically I don't expect any above the line acting talent to comment for a boutique release today, but then I'm not bovvered about new extras in general these days. Get someone like Charlie de Lauzirika involved and it's worth it, but the usual buffet of identikit extras involving interviews with the tea lady and the costume designer's second cousin - or worse, "academics" - bore me to tears.
LOL. Shout's CE of Dracula '79 takes the prize for this. I'm usually a stickler for leaving no boutique extra unwatched but I actually gave up partway through on that one. At least they got Badham and Richter though.

I've pretty much given up expecting much in the way of new extras. The Demolition Man lineup was pretty sparse but I appreciated how brief and to-the-point they were. Even with some of the more "below the line" talent there are usually some amusing little nuggets to be found, like for example the one guy's (forgotten who it was) closing comment about how "the only one who didn't realize we were making a comedy was Stallone." Ha!

Ultimately the movie and booklet are the thing for me, especially when it's following a barebones Blu-ray like with LKG. Really pumped about this announcement, especially so close on the heels of Deep Blue Sea. Great to see the Renny Harlin oeuvre getting some serious love! One of the rare bright spots of 2025 so far....

Not really, save for the convenience of being able to cancel with zero hassle.

It's Rarewaves all the way for me with these Arrow releases. Best shipping rates by far (I'm in Japan), very reasonable prices and secure packaging. No complaints whatsoever.

I'd have been here sooner, but I was thinkin' up that ham-on-rye line.

So much fun. So many quotable lines. Peak Sam Jackson. Excellent Gina Davis. Every supporting role perfectly cast.

I can't really remember anything about this movie from that era. It looks like it was released shortly after the launch of the N64 and that could be why I didn't see it at the time. Looking at Davis' IMDB now and sadly it looks like her career mostly dried up after this starring role. I had no idea she even had her own show at one brief point. She also was probably considered way too tall for most roles.

LMAO. Long forgotten that line but it’s my fave in the movie (just picturing the scene now)

Great that we get some new commentaries for this, but a bit disappointing that no new input from SLJ or GD (given that apparently they rank the movie quite highly).

Could imagine a new commentary track from them would be quite a laugh.

It feels like these boutique labels used to be able to get the actors to participate but nut anymore.

No accompanying BD like Trick R Treat. i wonder if Warner doesn’t like to license out HD for some reason, or if Arrow is just deciding to go UHD only at times.

Davis had some good points. It is pretty lame how young most actresses have to start being a supportive act as someone's mom. I remember as a kid thinking that was even weird when Lea Thompson was only in her early 30s.

Day 1!

I know Arrow’s going to do this justice too, can’t wait.

My only crit is that Arrow’s commentaries can sometimes be a bit random. There was one on their otherwise sublime Silence Of The Lambs disc that really didn’t need to be there.

Can we have a Renny Harlin track, or even something from Gina and Samuel L?

Davis also has founded the Geena Davis Institute to champion under-represented groups in the media.
She also has a new show coming out with Bill Pullman, Alfred Molina & Alfre Woodard where they fight aliens at their retirement community and I’m so ready for it.

Have you ever heard a Renny Harlin commentary?
