Late Summer or Fall? Thats 7 months. The average wait for a movie to be released on video is 3-5 months tops

I'm all for Cloverfield on Blu-ray. It was great movie and I can't wait to own it...but...To say it needs to be an HD release? The picture quality in the theater was horrible! It was intentional, sure, and I thought it added to the experience.

My point is just that an HD transfer of an intentionally low quality video is still going to be low quality. Think of the "noisy" picture in 300, that was intentional and was just magnified in the HD release.

So, Cloverfield, when it does hit Blu-ray, will be a horrible, shaky video in high definition.

I missed half of cloverfield. I got nauseous watching that shaky camera. I probably won't pick this up on either format.

Default Paramount/Universal (Transformers, Sweeney, Gangster, Beowulf, etc.) release dates?

New to Blu-ray. Was waiting for HD-DVD or Blu to die. We now know the answer. Transformers was on HD-DVD. Has anyone heard about it coming to Blu? Thanks!

Nope. Paramount has to make an announcement to support Blu-Ray first.

Unfortunately, Paramount has made no announcement yet. It PISSES ME OFF because Blu-ray is the only HD format! Why Para is holding off beats me! I have one thing to say to Paramount: DUH DUH DUH!

I thought Sony puts out movies too. Maybe Paramount doesn't want to support a competitor?

If they want to release on HD disc, I don't think they have a choice

Square is always a better aspect ratio than rectangle. Full Screen Rules! Glad to see Paramount will finally do it right! Hopfully they have gotten the word now and will continue this on all releases.
