Picked up a sealed copy of the AB disc from a Goodwill store for $2.99. Been wanting to view it for a long time.

I just deleted the "2020" after "Heathers remaster" on my wishlist.

I was lucky to track down a copy of the Arrow UK disc with slip/booklet around July. Transfer is beautiful and sad we here in the states have a botched release.

Do people actually think heathers is a slasher because i was watching a heathers blu ray locker unboxing and he said it was a fun slasher.

No, but there are plenty of morons on YouTube.

didn't think it was a slasher but based on the cover I always assumed this was just some teen romance film

So the Arrow version was never released in the US, correct? I just finally started buying blu-rays again and this is an all-time favorite.

Is there a consensus version, I should go with among the medicore options? Should I hold onto my DVD and just hold out hope the Arrow version eventually sees the light of day?

I’d definitely recommend importing the Arrow version if you can play region B.

Otherwise the US blu-ray looks better than the dvd if you can find it for cheap, but the Arrow version blows it out of the park.

If you’re not region free, go with the RLJ steelbook. It looks marginally better than the Anchor Bay Blu-ray (both sourced from the same older DVD master from the camera negative) and actually has MORE bonus features than the Arrow (including almost all their same extras).

Thanks guys. My PS5 is my 4k player and almost always my blue ray player too unless I'm in my bedroom which has a PS4 and 3. So I'm definitely region locked.

I'll keep an eye on ebay for a decent price on the steel book. Can't really justify $40 for a so-so transfer. Even with Criterion and Arrow I'm usually shopping used or waiting for sales.

Turn 36 in a couple weeks and apparently my mid-life crisis is returning to buying films after a decade long timeout. Part of the return is fueled by the ride in cost of records. The other part being that, as a former assistant / editor, you can't convince me that 4k isn't the end game, nor that you really need more than 1080 on a normal sized TV if the transfer is well done.

Cheers.

Not all 1080 is equal, when dealing with film transfers and such.

You too young to have a mid-life crisis, although I probably did around that age too. Just turned 52 and feel better than 36 in many ways. Like little aches and pains that made me think I was old as **** aren't there anymore. Skipped my 40 and 50 year old mid-life crisis's. Still plenty of fun to be had on the downside.

Wouldn't be surprised if we got a UHD of this from Arrow next year for the movie's 35th.

Yeah, I’d really like to upgrade my old Anchor Bay Blu-ray, but at this point I’m hoping Arrow will do a 4K release. I'd prefer a region free edition as well, which a 4K would be.

I imported the arrow blu 2 years ago and the PQ is better than the US release and hope we get a UHD soon.

I went. It was a satellite feed with the Fathom Events logo at the end.

After the movie, there was an 18 minute interview with Lisanne Falk (the same interview that is on the Arrow blu-ray).
