There seems to be a price war between Amazon and Best Buy, both are now showing for $209.99, so does anybody think this will drop to under 200 bucks by release?

To add to this right from The Digital bits:

Unfortunately, the 10-part Face of the Enemy webisode series is missing here for some unknown reason (possibly disc space). We've checked with Universal and the studio IS aware that people want it, so we're told that it will be made available on disc at some point in the future. We'll keep you up to date on this.

That's the aspect ratio cited in the original press release, but the set proper claims to be 1.78:1, which is correct.

I think $209.99 will be the lowest we see. Amazon still wins because of no sales tax. The tax for me over here in CA is like $28 bucks, so I think I am going to stick with Amazon. I could use that $28 bucks towards Dollhouse Season 1, or Fast and Furious.

Just pre-ordered the UK release, which comes a little later on 21st September. I just prefer the packaging alot more, plus this comes with a book detailing episodes etc...

Have a look:

With a 25% off coupon the complete series can be had for $164.92 at DeepDiscount.com! Of course that's when it is released on the 28th. I have no idea how long it will be backordered, though, but that's likely the best price you'll find for quite some time.

The UK packaging looks to be MUCH better. Too bad that isn't being offered in the US.

It's better, but I'd not call it good; it looks like they're using Star Trek Animated-style trays-held-together-by-shipping-tape.

On the bright side, the UK Blu-rays should be region-free, and are cheaper at the moment. The only thing keeping me from getting those instead is that I'm uncertain what resolution/frame rate the standard definition extras are at.

I'm really having a hard time to decide whether to get the US or UK set:

US:
  • Nicer looking package (I don't like the UK's refrigerator box)
  • Cylon figure included
UK:
  • Disc are in trays (whereas US they are in cardboard sleeves)
  • booklet included
With the Deep Discount sale, both come out at about the same price for me, taking everything into account (shipping, customs, etc).

Which version are you guys getting?

^ I'll be getting the UK version, which is gonna be quite a bit cheaper for me. The fact that I don't have to pay any customs fees on UK imports is the deal breaker here. The only reason why I'd wanna get the US one is because it's already been released and I hate having to wait for the UK set.

I love this show and will pick this up sooner or later. Right now I have the stereo and mono Beatle box remasters pre-ordered so it will be a little later.
