I placed an order for quantum of solace on may 06 for 13.99 and it still hasn't arrived to me so I think the package is lost which sucks big time. They said they shipped it on May 07 so they got me filling out an email for lost items. I've only placed a couple orders with ch canada which were both okay, about a 3 week arrival time to Vancouver and I have received over 20 movies from the original columbia house canada with no problems (1-2 week arrival time). Nonetheless I am very dissapointed as this is frustrating!

u r disappointed with who though? chcanada or canadapost? not trying to be rude or anything, if it is lost in transit due to canadapost, that is hardly the fault of chcanada. I guess as long as they sent you a replacement or refund you the money, then it is not really a loss to you?

that one, I don't quite understand. Perhaps SavvyGuy can shed some light on this policy.

Just curious though, PO Boxes obviously come in various sizes. What happened if you order 10 movies and it won't fit in your "small" PO Box, would the post office sent it back to the sender or store the parcel for you separately, perhaps in their storeroom of some sort?

I am more dissapointed with the Canada Post as they are the ones who obviously lost the package. I wish there was a faster service with them as waiting 3 weeks for a movie to be shipped from ontario to vancouver is pretty ridiculous. In the states I don't wait more then 5 business days for anything to Blaine, Wa and if its first class it gets to me from Florida in 3 days for about the same price as Canada Post for one blu ray, plus you get delievery confirmation for an extra 80 cents.

Try waitng 3 months, I got someone to send a couple of titles from Canada to Australia using Canada Post surface mail and it took three months!! I tried this method twice ( I thought the first time is bad luck ) and 3 months is literally how long it takes for this method of international shipment.

I certainly know what you are saying about the crazy shipping costs charged by Canada Post. It is same with our Australia Post. For me to post a single movie overseas to US/Canada using normal airmail costs about A$10. The other day, I had to return a 2kg parcel to Germany. Guess how much I was charged for it? A whooping A$77 (roughly C$68 using XE). You would think at this sort of price they must be using a fighter jet/F1 to deliver the parcel. Bl**dy blood sucker is what I call our postal system

I quit selling my old HD DVDs because the shipping was insane. To send one to the US now is basically $5, since you can no longer use lettermail, even though it still fits through the slot. Now lettermail is only for paper.

I finally ordered The Wrestler BR. Can't wait to get it!

A couple of more requests:

Gran Torino (a couple of weeks after it comes out of course)
Casino Royale

Preferably the latest version of CR, especially since Amazon.com and Walmart in the US are selling it for $15 (at least they were).

They should be sent Light Packet, 100 grams= $2.11 +.11 GST

I hated sending HD DVDs to US because sometimes they were over 100 grams, but Blu-ray is consistently not over 100 grams. Now what I hate is the digital copies pushing the weight up to past 100 grams.

Yeah, the change from 100 grams to 101 grams more than doubles the shipping rates. It's insane. As you said, the digital copies adds weight, but so does some of the inserts, etc. I don't mind $2.11, but when it gets to $4.40 plus tax, in addition to the envelopes it sucks.

yup.. i've sent a couple of blus now in trades and with packaging and cost of shipping (i usually use light packet) i'm paying MIN $4 bucks for just the shipping to trade w/ someone. not the greatest price, but i can live with that rate for now. not at all pre-pared to pay $4.50 that would be rediculous as movieking said.

With many mailings at ~97 grams, 4 grams of inserts will push you to the higher rate. Almost none of the inserts have any use anyways, they promote other titles and Blu-ray features.

Yup straight to the "blu box" Though the industry should do the whole world a favour and just not print out those booklets/inserts. Like cmon I just bought a blu-ray movie, why do you need an ad in there telling me how great blu is.
