This is so much better than the Blu Ray version

Obviously I've followed the link, but there is no way to discern two different covers for the digibook on that link.
Better yet, do a search on Target's site...only the one book pops up.
Again, I'm not saying there won't be 2 different covers...just saying there aren't 2 different covers right now!

You can see they are two different books unless there is a way for a book to have two different covers at the same time. You can see the spine on the right in both pictures. Why would they do that if it's supposed to be the same book with one image on the front and one on the back? The spine would have to be on the left in one of the images for it to represent the back of the same book.

I notice Amazon, doesn't have any pictures up for that dvd set, although at $28 I might just preorder and see what happens with it.
IMO, that is the best artwork I've seen for any of the 3 movies...with maaaaaybeeeee the lone exception being the steelbook.

Edit: Also Amazon listing says 3 discs, fwiw.

I just told you a way.

Damn I'm probably going to end up getting multiple copies of this film. I already have the cowl special edition on order from Amazon and also may end up getting the Best Buy steelbook depending on what I hear about their exclusive documentary. I also wouldn't mind having the Target exclusive digibooks (at least the Batman one for sure). I wonder if there's any chance that we'll get digibook releases of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

I'll just get the steelbook to complete the trilogy.

No sarcasm, just didn't want to argue any more and you have a valid point.

Personally, if it is one book with a lenticular Bane/Batman alternating cover, that would be interesting enough I might actually want it. If it is two books then I would just see it as a marketing gimmick and any desire to own one would probably be trumped by my others not being books. But as it is, I'm kind of thinking I'll wait to see what the trilogy UCE in 2013 is all about.

There's really nothing to argue. Here are the only 3 options as I see it:

1) Target will release 2 different covers
2) It will be 1 book with the pics on front/back
3) It will be a Lenticular cover with both pics

If it's going to be option #1(the most likely), as it stands now there is NO way to order both books. At least I couldn't see an option for 2 books, with 2 different sku #'s. As I first saw the Target link reported this morning, I look at it as 1 book with pics on the front/back.
While a Lenticular digibook would be pretty neat, I just don't see all the extra money going into it.
In conclusion, I just think Target will adjust their website to show 2 different books to preorder.
I just love speculating!

Edit: Or maybe a 4th option: A book with a lenticular slipcover!

I doubt they'd go back and redo the audio for that scene in the movie, BUT one way around this would be if the set would include the Prologue as a separate feature itself.

Just like they did for the Dark Knight prologue on the Begins blu-ray, they should have the option to just view the DKR prologue as it was presented back in December '11 -- with Bane's original voice (the extended line about Dr Pavel) and the teaser of images from the movie that follows.

If this isn't on the DKR blu, I hope this and the Dark Knight prologues are in the Ultimate Collection (in the IMAX aspect ratio rather than in 1:85 to boot).

Well, to be fair to #1, I don't think it would be unprecedented for two variants of the same item to use the same UPC/SKU.

But also, if your theory about front/back pictures is correct, the pictures are currently wrong because there would be no way to make that work and have the spine look the way it does from both sides.

Isn't this exciting!! ;p

Well looking back at my Target order for Avengers/ET/Hunger Games, I don't see any sku #'s. So that would mean the product name would have to reflect the difference, which it doesn't at this time.
So, I guess that we are back to square 1.

As for the spine facing the wrong direction...didn't you know this will be the first blu-ray digibook with TWO spines!

I definitely go for the Target Digibook if there was a US Digibook for the previous Nolan films. I think I'm just going to go for the standard 3 disc set.

Yup. DVD cover art looks leagues better. I'm considering picking it up just because of the packaging

In a case where you have an "assortment" of variant items with the same UPC, there would be no way to differentiate for an online order (someone would just grab one off the stack and give it to you). Despite how much not knowing which they are getting would piss people off, it is possible. I'm guessing that's how Target's recent 3 slipcover versions for Snow White and the Huntsman worked... You had to go to the store if you wanted to be selective. Or maybe that one wasn't offered online? There was also the X-Men: First Class release @ BB that had two random slips, same UPC.

Amazon UK did have a Blu-ray version of that DVD trilogy set on the movies page, but changed it to the final art.

Pre-Ordered the Bat Cowl. Looks cool and I love that it's numbered. Wish I had been paying attention... Could have got it for $8 less two days ago...
