JANUARY 7-9 AT THE TRYLON
Borrowing the ironic moniker applied to the New York City of the 1970s, the Fun City Editions label was recently started by longtime Trylon friend Jonathan Hertzberg to distribute new restorations of underappreciated films. We are excited to present two of their latest releases. Hertzberg will be present for the Friday and Saturday screenings.

Yes, alas, it's not really a good time for travel, as I'm sure everyone knows by now.

Any chance of Bogdanovich's They All Laughed? I'm not entirely sure how the DVD rights ended up with HBO, given that it was originally a Fox title that Bogdanovich infamously ended up self-distributing and bankrupting himself in the process. But it would be a great one for FCE if HBO's licence had expired

It's with HBO and, by extension, WB, in perpetuity. PB bought back distribution rights from Fox, yes, but the film was financed by Time-Life Films. That is how it ended up with HBO / WB.

I don't know if this would follow FCE's narrative, but this is Australian Independent film I would love to get, and Eric Bana gives a tour deforce performance on his very first film role, it was released in the US by Image Entertainment (RLJ Films now) back in the early 2000's;

Thanks, yeah, probably not near the top of our list. Much more fun and meaningful to release the ones that have had little or no love yet.

I know you don't want this to turn into a request thread where you have to politely turn people down, but I was curious if you know anything about The Music of Chance (1993) and if there is some weird rights issue with it? I'm not sure it ever got a DVD release but it's a great little film with an amazing cast.

It seems strangely forgotten.

It's with Sony. Nope, never even a DVD release. Damn good film.

Thanks. Hopefully it gets a Warner Archive release down the line then, but I won't get my hopes up!

On the subject of filmmakers we've sadly lost recently, any chance of any Downey Sr.? I remember you saying that Pound wasn't licensable for some reason but, while that would be top of my wish list, I'd also go for Hugo Pool

POUND still had some unspecified legal issues last time we checked.

I know the standard edition of Primetime Panic has the three films sharing a case, but does that case have a slipcover, or is it just a case without a slip?

No, it doesn't have a slip. It's the same standard packaging that you see with Vinegar Syndrome's multi-film sets.

The only special packaging for this set is the box available directly from Vinegar Syndrome.

Just watched "Melinda" on TCM.

As far as I know, there is no Blu-ray, wonder if it's with MGM still.

A great black exploitation/noir/martial arts flick from 1972. I can't really think of anything else like it, totally unique with a great story and characters (including a goon that just sips milk from a straw the entire time?). Jim Kelly is also in it, kicking @ss.

I think it would make a great FCE.

If you have access to Watch TCM I highly recommend checking it out while its available!

It's pre-1986 MGM so it's with Warner's. I wonder how the DVD looks.

Got a feeling this may be owned by Lionsgate. Wanted to suggest a mid-eighties film whose cast includes Will Patton, called Chinese Boxes.

Hadn't heard of Chinese Boxes until reading Mondo Digital's review of Radio On (which includes both the BFI and Fun City Editions releases).
