Nissen, it's great to see you in the thread again (and to hear from DrrnHarr too).

The Muppet Movie and DYRL covers are my favorite of the batch. Pity they aren't for sharing.

Keep up the great work.

Hey guys.

I'm new to this site and was told on another forum that I could potentially get a custom made Halloween cover for the film's 35th anniversary release. Is anyone here able to help me out with that?

Thank for your time.

Just curious... Has anyone else on here ever decided to to a custom cover just because you didn't like the spine? I have quite a few that I'm working on just because of the spine. These are mostly TV shows like Dexter and Breaking Bad; it always bothers me a little bit when the Logo, the text saying "The xxx Season" and the rest of the stuff on the spines don't line up.

Though I've just recently started delving into custom covers, I can't say that I've ever had the urge to do that. I can certainly see why someone would, though. If you're primarily viewing your movies as a row of spines on a shelf, having some of those spines not match, not line up, ect. could really drive a person crazy.

I'd be very interested to see before and after pics. If you're not changing much else on the cover, it doesn't seem like it would take that long to do a set - just the spines. Really, it just illustrates a passion for design and a love of the material. (IMO).

Neat idea.

Ha ha. If you ask me, mismatched spines are the single worst irritant in my collection. I had a guy who asked me to replace all 500 spines on his Blu-ray collection to get a uniform look. The deal fell through though.

The first few I did were for my Ferris Beuller & Forrest Gump Blu-Rays. I just didn't like the way the "Saphhire Series" banner looked on the spine and the title on the Ferris Beuller one just looked cheesy in huge red letters. So for those, I just made spines and did the best I could to slide them over the cover and keep them centered. Now, though, I just end up re-doing the entire cover.

Excuse the somewhat offtopicness.

I'm getting many pm's and emails with requests to make covers or download links for covers I've created.

For the covers I've done in the past, please ask each other in this thread for them or find them on other cover websites.

As for requests, well I've stopped making covers as of July 2013. (Please also note that my ongoing projects are cancelled, including my latest Star Wars Collector's Box, Bruce Lee Collection and LOST Series). I figured it was a good time to stop. I started making covers when I was 15 years of age back in the Summer of 2003 and continued for a good decade, which is more than what most other artists have done.

Only a handful from way back then are still around, sadly. For me it really became more of a chore than a hobby with time. I am glad for starting at that young age, because I quickly learned my way around Photoshop. Had I been older when I started, I can't imagine that I'd learn it as fast.

My personal way of creating covers actually consisted of a piece of paper and a pencil and I would start to draw out what I wanted to create on the computer. After my layout was done, the paper was scanned and then I began working on it for real with elements, artwork, stills and whatnot.

To this day, I've made more than 350 single covers. Unfortunately I don't have them anymore, but my very first cover was for Johnny English. I don't believe it to be available anywhere anymore. If anyone has got it, hopefully they can see my progress

At the same time, I'd like to say 'keep up the good work' to all the current artists out there. You guys keep amaze me with the stuff you come up with.

So.. I guess what I'm trying to say is, this is it. No more covers from my pen. Take care, ciao!

The artwork featured on this custom slip cover was a private commission I had done through acclaimed artist, Nathan Thomas Milliner. Nathan is a Horrorhound Magazine artist and also does Blu-ray cover art for Scream Factory (some of his work includes the Blu-ray covers for Halloween 2, Halloween 3, The Howling and The Burning). This artwork features the looks of Jason Voorhees from ALL 12 MOVIES. The custom title and other graphics were added by me. If you have seen the new Friday the 13th 10 disc Blu-ray collection promo photos (comes out 9/13/13) you will notice that they are using a sleeve disc holder design. Those kind of cases are known to scratch your discs and are hard to get the discs out of as well. I also wasn't a fan of what they did with the cover art so I decided to make a custom sleeve to fit the 10 disc Blu-ray case. The Paramount logo on the side was intentional. Looks better and pays homage to the studio that started it all. JASON LIVES!

VERY cool, I love it!

Default Dexter Seasons 1-7

Some Dexter covers I've been working on for awhile. They're mostly just re-constructed to make the spines line up together, but I've made a few changes to some. I never really liked the back of the Season 1 cover. The picture of Dexter on the back always looked more like an action figure to me. I thought it would look better on the Season 5 cover if the tile pattern was visible on the back a little bit. And on Season 7, I just do NOT like how much they zoomed in on Dexter's face on the official cover. Luckily, I was able to find a hi-res copy of the same picture showing his entire face, so I could make it whatever size I wanted. I used a different pic of Deb & Dexter on the back only because I couldn't find a high-quality copy of the one they originally used. I would say the biggest challenges were seasons 5 & 6, because I had to pretty much re-create the backgrounds.

I'm very sorry to hear this M, but I understand perfectly. Many cover artists have come and gone over the years, and the pattern seems to be that we all lose interest at one point. I've been suffering from a lack of enthusiasm myself this last year, having done well over 400 covers since I started back in 2011.

Your work has been stellar and an inspiration, and I will miss my fellow Scandinavian cover colleague. Best of luck.

Good work except the season 1 back cover makes Dexter look like he was on a teeny bopper magazine cover. It's his pose

Here are some more covers I've been working on for awhile.

I decided to do some covers for Nolan's Batman trilogy. There are two reasons why I made these. 1: I always liked the artwork on the Dark Knight slipcover much more than the actual cover art. And 2: I wanted the spines to match up.

I've also been working on a Caddyshack cover for a very long time. It took me quite a while because I almost had it done, but my Photoshop Elements crashed on me while I was working on it and the file became corrupt; I couldn't open it at all, so it was very hard to get in the mood to work on it again. Anyway, I never liked the front cover that came with the DVD/Blu-Ray releases. Judge Smails is only in his sailor uniform during one scene, and I don't believe Rodney Dangerfield ever wears the shirt in the movie that he was wearing on the cover. I used two different back covers. I'm still not sure which one I prefer, so I've made both available. All of these are available on euphoricfx.org.
