I had quite a few members request matching custom covers for Halloween 4 and Halloween 5 that match my custom cover for my Halloween 35th Anniversary custom cover.

H5 is finished and I just started working on H4. To save file size/space I reduced this jpeg image from 12 to 1, so resolution is very low. If you want the full high resolution file send me a PM and I'll be happy to email it to you (as well as H4) once its completed.

Cheers!
Steve

(This is my first cover; I'm hoping I can actually finish it instead of relegating it to the unfinished pile of projects I've got going...)

That's great work! I may want a copy of that when you are finished.

Just finished my custom Halloween 4 cover to match the custom Halloween 5 and custom Halloween 35th I made. If you would like a copy of the FULL resolution file, send me a PM (resolution of image in this thread is significantly reduced).

Cheers!

Finally got time to work on my covers again so decided to finally finish my custom Man of Steel slipcovers.

Almost done with these two, along with the 3D versions and some variations. These should be available through pm.(Files only, since I can't produce the slipcovers at home unfortunately.)

So what do you guys think of them?

I just bought the 3D edition of the Little Mermaid, mainly because I liked the box art MUCH better than either of the 2D releases. Obviously, since I went out of my way and spent extra just to get that cover, I am not looking to fully replace it with a custom cover.

However, I am interested in making a small modification to the slipcover.

I generally don't care about 3D. And with my Disney movies, I usually prefer to get the 2D versions as I like having the consistency of them having the "Disney Blu-Ray" logo at the top of the spine of each slip cover when lined up on the shelf (3D releases have a different Disney 3D logo in the same place).

Obviously, the version of The Little Mermaid that I just bought has that 3D logo.

Basically, what I want to do, if possible, is make a matching sticker to put over it with the regular Disney Blu-Ray logo...

I want to scan the spine of the slip box to get the correct coloring (especially since it fades into other shades), get rid of the 3D logo, and put the regular Disney Blu-Ray logo on it, print it on some kind of sticker paper, cut it out, and apply it to the slipcover. I'm not looking to cover the entire spine. Just the area at the top to cover the 3D logo and put the other logo in it's place.

My concerns are matching the colors correctly (scanning and reprinting isn't always accurate), getting some kind of sticker paper that has a similar glossiness as the slip cover itself and as thin as possible so it doesn't 'stick out' any more than it has to (if such a thing even exists), and basically just making this look as nice as possible.

I realize that it won't be perfect. There will likely be some kind of visible line where the sticker ends and the real spine begins, and that's okay to an extent, I just want it to look as nice as possible.

This is one of those projects that is really simple, yet really complicated at the same time.

Any tips and advice are appreciated!
Your best best would be to find or make a hi-resolution scan, fix the spine how you want it and then print the whole spine. If you are good with scissors you could cut the entire new spine out and insert it right over the old spine so that the edges of the paper are consealed by the edges of the box.

I did this with the Cruel Intentions spine. I cut down the spine from the DVD and placed it over the Blu-ray spine. You would never know it didn't come like that unless you took the paper out of the case.

Default Halloween Custom Blu-ray Cover by Nissen

Some recent work:

Masters is of course a recreation of the UK VHS cover. I wash my hands of the wonky layout of the back :-)

The Halloween cover is meant for the Canadian Alliance three-pack. This is available to share. PM me for link.

I need to get back to working on it. I printed out a test and realized my 'C' on the front cover (the Criterion Logo) isn't in the right spot.

But yea, I'll post it when it's done! Thanks!

What was wrong with the Cruel Intentions spine?

Nissen, I can appreciate the challenge of turning VHS artwork into something that fits a Blu-ray sleeve. Considering the source material, I think that the 'Masters' cover came out really well.

I also really like the Halloween three-pack cover, though the 'fan' part of me can't quite reconcile having H2O and Resurrection in the same case.

Thanks for sharing!

God damn I miss Drew Struzan-style posters. If he can make a movie like Masters of the Universe look that good, he's an absolute wizard.

Those early Columbia Pictures releases had the weird blue rounded border around the spine. Always bothered me.

Anybody know where I can get some scans of the newly released Universal Monster singles? I checked the usual cover sites. Nothing yet. Thanks!

Me too. I've been planning to do covers for movies like "Click" and "Anger Management" just because of those borders.

I have custom ones with a spanning spine, if they're any good to you?

Also, they aren't mine. I was linked to them on here by another member. I don't believe they're his either.

Default Night of the living dead Blu-ray cover

Since we're in the Halloween mood... (Horror seems to bring out the custom cover urge in many fans.)
I made a conversion of the 35th anniversary digibook into a regular US cover for a client.

Also, I recently made an English cover for the Japanese Happinet Blu-ray of Night of the Living Dead.

These were both made as commissions, but if there is interest I can enquire whether the client would like them shared or not.

Well, I'd certainly be interested - those both came out beautifully, especially the Night of the Living Dead one. I so wish it wasn't public domain just so we could get a 'definitive version'.
