volcomsocal is right. 24/25 you would be completely useless, as the shields would laugh at you. At 26 you'll be okay, if you know exactly what to do (which you won't if it is your first time). 27 is better, and 28 will be much easier on you.

Hmm, good to know. I guess my friend did say "a little higher [then 24] just so that things are a little easier" so I guess I underestimated what "a little higher" exactly was. Looks like I've got a ways to go here.

you can almost buy your way to lvl 30 now. Of course you will need a lot of shards to get your gear up to 30.

Full party can easily carry you at 25. Just go for it and call it a learning experience.

I don't know how long you've been playing Destiny, but the best thing to do if you're trying to get your light level up is to play the Vanguard Roc strikes. Just by knocking out like 7 or 8 of these will give you the chance of a good drop (armor wise), and will also give you Vanguard marks. Easiest thing to do is first get your Vanguard rank up to level 2 and then buy legendary gauntlets and boots. They will each cost you 75 Vanguard marks. The chest piece also costs 75 Vanguard marks, but requires a Vanguard Commendation that you can only get from ranking up your Vanguard reputation level. The helmet costs 120 Vanguard marks and you'll also need a Vanguard Commendation for this piece of armor as well. Just by acquiring these 4 armor pieces, you'll be able to get to level 30 (or 31, I can't remember). And while Xur is hanging around this weekend, if you have enough Strange Coins, do yourself a favor and buy an exotic armor for your Guardian, if you can.

I've only been playing for a little less than a month now and don't have much in the way of inventory (6 Vanguard marks, 5 Motes of Light, 1 Strange Coin). As such, I'm still trying to figure out how all this stuff works. I just need to hunker down and do a bunch of strikes.

Just looked up Vanguard Roc strikes. If that's level 26 and only available with The Dark Below DLC, I most certainly have a ways to go before I can tackle those. Good to keep an eye out for them, though.

Bought my third Ice Breaker when I got on this evening. Of course I proceeding to get a 4th one during Crota raid. :roll eyes: But I got Hunger of Crota so was excited about that. My first Crota finish and thought it went very well. Big thanks to Mega, Dodger, Ken and I believe Vindicator. Much appreciated.

up to 81 crucible marks.....hopefully can find the time to finish off the 100 before the end of the weekend.

also figured out how to save video clips.....had a couple of epic 7-8 kill steaks tonight!!

Thanks to Ken, Mega, KJR, Vindicated, and another that's not from Blu-ray on completing Crota's End on normal. They helped me get the final armor piece (chest) that I needed to complete my raid set. I also got Hunger of Crota. All in all, a great and smooth run.
