I figured I'd hold off for the EEs to begin with, but the mediocre picture ratings for the theatrical releases makes the decision even easier for me. I'll hold out hope that they polish the movies up for the eventual/presumable EE release.

Yep, I was one of the people that planned on buying the TE on Blu-ray and not waiting on the EEs (as I had not seen them)
Even though of the two I've seen now, I prefer the EEs, my opinion on the matter hasn't changed actually. I suppose I fall into the smaller camp who likes and wants to own both editions instead of watching JUST the EEs or the TEs.

I'll gladly own both, especially since I got the TEs for only $50 (I got these EE DVDs yesterday, $17 before shipping for brand new).


Should they ever do a full on restoration and release the EEs on blu with seamless branching to the theatricals, I will pick that up once I can get it for a decent price (and sell off the original TE Blus I have)
If not and they release them as just the EEs with no branching, I may upgrade the DVDs...eventually.

Let me just start by saying, wow am I put to shame!
I was surely expecting this to be pure crap, all the credible reviewers plus all the members here who couldn't stop bashing it, gave me the idea that Twilight would be a waste of time. I asked my gf if she wanted to see it with me, she had no interests in it whatsoever! It's her loss really, she'll never discover the masterpiece it is! The casting is superb, Kristen Stewart as Bella is just a joy!
But moreso Robert Pattinson as Edward is probably one the greatest castings done, ever! He plays the mysterious, shy, akward but dangerous and sexy vamp hero in this movie, his presence in scenes always steals my attention. His crowning acheviement is the scene where he explains everything to Bella, where he show what happens to him when he is in sunlight, he sparkles! OMG, I immediately understood his pain and his dilemma in the movie. But there are more great scenes! There's a forest scene that's even better than a scene in Richard Donners Superman, the scene with Superman giving Lois a flying trip over sea and land, so romantic and memorable (especially with John Williams' music), but that scene has now been topped by the forest scene in which Edward takes Bella on his back and starts to run around and climb trees! W O W ! Another scene from Twilight tops another scene from a very popular movie (wow, how is that even possible?), The scene in Spiderman 3 were Peter Parker is evil and starts to dance the evil dance, so masterfully illustrated by the Sam Raimi! pure awesomeness, but that scene has definitely been topped by the baseball scene in Twilight, Edward takes Bella to a baseball match with his family, how cool is that? pale vampires with super human strength playing baseball during a thunderstorm, the only time they can go out and play, as to not reveal their super strengths to the general public. It's also in that sequence in which Bella gets in trouble, and that's where she really gets in danger, but I'll leave that for you to experience! All in all, great direction, great casting and acting. Surely one of the best entertainment movies ever made!

10/10 A perfect movie in my book, go blindbuy this one! or at the very least rent it! This is how you make a real vampire movie!

I wouldn't call it that bad, but I know what you mean. It's a very long, slowly paced drama. I never really understood its plot or characters (or at least not at the same depth as the real fans).

I do own a copy, since I did kinda like the next two parts (yes, even number 3...), but I think I got it more from a collector's standpoint than for its entertainment value.

Just saw Spy Game 8/10

Amazing thriller, and full of deceit. You can compare this film with body of lies, very cliffhanging, and suspenseful. I love the movie, and i would recommend this to any Thriller fans. But on the opposite side the PQ was done poorly, there was allot of scenes were the darks were blotted and the camera was out of foucus on the sides. If it had been a better PQ transfer i would Highly Recommend this film. AQ was superb and Demo material. Overall this was a great film, below average PQ and above average AQ. This movie comes RECOMMENDED.
