Honour Blackman is five years older than Sean Connery. Eunice Gayson is older too. Moneypenny was older as well.

I did not know MOnica was going to be in this thing. Meh, I guess they could have gone with a worse choice, but she isn't anywhere near being one of my favorite actresses out there.

Many pics of filming in Rome with Bellucci and Craig (might contain spoilers!)

Did anyone else notice Daniel Craig wearing a black and grey nato strap in those photos? Could Bond be wearing Rolex again? I've seen pics of him in real life wearing a vintage Submariner on that strap...even though it's not technically the correct Goldfinger style.

Who should perfom the new Bond song? I've hearf/read choices like Lana Del Rey, 30 Seconds to Mars, Rihanna etc. Personally, I'd love to hear what Björk has to offer

I heard Sam Smith. Would like to see Lana Del Rey do it. Wish Amy Winehouse wasn't dead.

Bond will be wearing whichever watch brand pays the most money for the product placement. For the last several Bonds, it's been Omega. But if Rolex wants to pay more, then he'll go back to Rolex.

BTW, both luxury watch brands are going to be in trouble if the Apple Watch is as successful as I think it's going to be. Come April, a $10,000 14-karat gold Apple Watch is going to be the status symbol, not an old-fashioned Rolex. And that's coming from someone that wears an Omega Seamaster Pro (the first Bond Omega).

Craig's misogynistic Bond films have killed off all but 2 female characters so I'd say it's getting really stale at this point.
That's been every Bond film since Goldfinger.

A luxury brand will never be hurt by a shiny new tech toy, not in any industry. First of all, Apple watches will not be a big deal except with the ultra geeks. There will be a niche market for them but they will never go mainstream. Secondly, those luxury brands have something that the people wearing them desire, something that Apple watches will never have. It's called class and sophistication. Apple is just a supped up little import that's fast as hell and fun to drive, but no one over 25 would be caught dead in one. The luxury watch brands are the BMW M6 or Audi RS7, they kick ass, take names and do it all with out breaking a sweat or wrinkling their suit.

Apparently, you haven't familiarized yourself with Apple's Watch offerings. Unlike other smart-watch offerings, Apple is making sure the Apple Watch is as much a fashion statement as it is a tech gadget. Apple is building jewelry as much as it is building a wrist-mounted extension of the iPhone. Take a look at all of the different styles and bands:

http://www.apple.com/watch/

The stainless steel and gold versions are going to be VERY aspirational. I am very confident that Rolexes and Omegas are going to end up back in their cases and new sales on luxury watches are going to slow.

Let's revisit this conversation in one year and see how it's all worked out.

How about bringing back Shirley Bassey? She still killed belting out Goldfinger at the Oscars two years back.

Apple is going to make gigantic amounts of money with the watch. I'm sorta kicking myself for never investing in their stock years ago. I had guys who had regularly been buying it over the past decade explain to me how they had already had their investments in that company grow by a few thousand percent... with seemingly no end in sight to the long term growth. Once they double their work force and start producing things like the Apple car it'll get crazy seeing how much money they'll be bringing in.

In a year the shiny new Apple watch will be obsolete tech, replaced by the Apple watch 2, while a mechanical watch will be just the same as it was. Who covets Roger Moore era Seikos over Rolexes? In any case Rolex and Omega are near the bottom end of luxury watches, owners of Audemars, Panerai, IWC or Chopard won't be trading in for Apple watches as they are worn for style rather than timekeeping. Already the most expensive watches are less accurate than Junghans radio control models and most are less accurate than cheap quartz watches but people keep buying them. It looks like it'll be Omega again in SPECTRE as they've just turned out yet another limited edition Bond watch, an Aqua Terra with detailing based on Bond's coat of arms.

I wonder if they'll ever make Apple apples.
