Redbox Blu-rays for Sale

Probably the last time I need to visit this page. Noted on Rebox FBook page folks asking where is Oppenheimer (no response) and several folks talking about their kiosks going bye bye. It's over guys and gals.

- Redbox' parent company (Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, NASDAQ: CSSE) got a notice from NASDAQ that it isn't in compliance for not having a 10-Q for the latest quarter ending September 2023.

- CSSE was already up for delisting (removal from NASDAQ) because it doesn't meet the market cap or $1 price minimum.

- Evidently, Redbox has now removed telephone support. Billing issues and unplayable disc issues now go through an email chain.

Any good news?

So when you see that guy/gal at Dollar Tree buying their entire inventory of dvds what's the chance they're buying stock for the Redbox kiosks? Side note: At least I'll stop buying crap blus just because they're available cheap.

Redbox sent 3 codes for money off rentals over the weekend. Not sure what I was suppose to do with them. Rent Lizard People 3 times I guess. Only new thing in there.

Thanks for the laugh. Once again I broke down and bought (don't make fun of me) a dvd copy of Infinity Pool. No offer for a dollar off used or toward a rental. And while I'm a horror fan I just couldn't get into the movie but at least it's still cheaper than streaming.

It's just simple greed.

An easy way for middle-class Americans to enjoy entertainment without going broke, but studios couldn't handle people watching their movies without making maximum profit. I remember "rental" copies with no special features.

I was just coming to post the same. It would be nice if they make a code for every Tuesday, but I won't assume today isn't the last day for a good deal before the rest of the kiosks are removed from my area.

I'm still going to whine a little bit, but it's a nice, good, and very entitled thing to whine about: I already bought almost all of these movies on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, i.e. Barbie, John Wick 4, Shazam 2, Plane, Creed III, etc.. I would have bought these from Redbox, but they were too late with a coupon this year. I'll still legitimately head out today and buy up all of the lower tier Nic Cage, Bruce Willis, Sam Worthington, John Malkovich, Mel Gibson, Tyrese, Lizard People etc. movies I'm missing, assuming the code can be used more than once.

Does anyone know of any current discs that are exclusive to Redbox? I'm still very thankful I bought The Empty Man when it was in stock.

I couldn't find the original reddit post yet, but I read this on the SD thread "This may be a going-out-of-business sale. A redbox employee on reddit said they're not getting their paychecks. The end is near."

I'm assuming my final Redbox haul ever unless they for some reason do an even cheaper sale:

I never like to see/hear people that will lose their jobs. Hopefully some restructuring will happen and they get paid for their work.

I know whatever I spend today really amounts to nothing to actually help them but I went a bit overboard, 13 titles. Woud've picked up a few more but they were still on rental only. At the $2 off prices it's like renting them and not returning it.

That's how I feel also. Hopefully they get paid for their work. Someone else on SD mentioned their machines being broken for months. The first kiosk I went to today had a very messed up touch screen. If the Chicken Soup for the Soul company is in financial dire straits and if the workers aren't getting their paychecks, it doesn't surprise me that kiosks aren't getting repaired.

Was Black Adam a DVD? I don't have the blu-ray available in my area. I don't know when I'd watch it again, but for $1.99 I would have bought it just to complete the DCEU collection.

It's a Blu-ray, I try to only buy DVDs if there is not high def option. Just did a quick search now and I guess I got really lucky with it. Actually the machine I bought most of them from broke right after I made my last purchase. There's one 4 minutes away from my home which used to be routinely broken and I would call them to get a tech out there. Hope that one doesn't break.

Thanks. I bet I could have bought it today. It sounds like it's just not showing up on their website. They don't make it easy. At the kiosk I click "Movies to Buy" and then "blu-ray." Then they show a bunch of movies that are only available to rent. I probably assumed it was one of those.
