I seriously hope this is better than KOTM. That was my most disappointing film of 2k19. Loved the other 2 monsterverse films though, so I have hope!

Adam Wingard Confirms Rating

Adam Wingard, the director of the film, shared the confirmation via his Official Instagram Account, also hinting that the "intense sequences of creature violence/destruction and brief language" was an "understatement" for the upcoming feature length film from Legendary Pictures. Source

I need to rewatch KOTM again since I blacked out during the third act, so I can't remember much. I do remember going like, this movie ain't as bad as the critics are making it out to be.

I will say, despite my couple of character issues with the film I'd say the final battle of the two times I saw it theatrically was the most consistently satisfying finale of the three films thus far. Ghidorah getting royally pummeled through most of Boston after taking away Sally Hawkins from me feels grand.

WB needs to release Godzilla 2014 on 4K UHD. With so much of that action set at night, I can only imagine how much better this would look with an HDR pass.

It's a big issue, also partly the reason it failed. The human characters were paper thin to say the least. Absolutely generic and cringe worthy.

Thought KOTM was a very good entry. Good monster battles, with decent characters and story. Film really delivers on the monster battles, which is the main reason to see one of these. It's a fun popcorn flick, not meant to be a deep film.

I cared more about the human characters in KOTM and Skull Island than I did Godzilla 2014. They felt more interesting to man than Aaron Taylor-Johnson looking confused for 2 hours
