Aw thanks buddy, and thanks for the big laughs. Your earlier post was a searing satire of the virtue-Stasi:

That’s some genius character comedy right there. Have you got any more?

I love free speech and here is one reason why: when I see people degrade that sacred right by wasting it on insulting someone's appearance, all I can think is this: thanks to free speech, I know exactly what kind of person they are.

For all of Cameron’s artistry, his business nous might be his most impressive ability.

He knew that the legendary mystique of the Titanic combined with heart-throb Leo would bring in everyone from nautical dads to teenage daughters. The writing is sufficiently broad to travel overseas (no pun) and linking the film to a catchy pop song made sure both would mutually multiply each other’s success (why doesn’t this happen anymore?)

Cameron’s no stranger to production hell, and he learned from The Abyss that being good isn’t sufficient to make money, so my guess is he crafted a guaranteed cash-cow and then dived in (no pun), knowing he’d come up smiling at the other end.

His greatest trick was making Avatar 2 a roaring success. I was convinced the complete lack of cultural impact of the first film would leave Avatwo dead in the water (no pun) but nope, he did it again.

I found it such a shame that only small portions of the suite were shown on the 2012 Blu-ray instead of the full piece, just edited into the “Reflections on Titanic” retrospective.

VR is the least expensive option, and has definitely come a LONG WAY, even in Entertainment.

I watched Avatar 2, in 3D, with my Oculus VR set, and it was simply like being sat in front of a giant IMAX screen......literally amazing.
Nothing comparable to watch it on a regular 3D TV/monitor, with lights and other distractions around your eyes, that takes away from being "immersed" in the movie.
Do you need a computer to send everything to the headset or can a PS4 do it too? I don't know a whole lot about computers and consoles. I have a PS4 and rarely use it.

To Celebrate the 25th anniversary of Celine Dion’s biggest hit of all time, this performance focused music video has been reimagined, featuring remastered footage in stunning clarity. Newly transferred from the original 35mm film reels and assembled in a brand new 4K edit, the video features exclusive, never-before-seen footage from the original ‘My Heart Will Go On’ video shoot from 1997.

Have you seen the director's cut version? I didn't even know there was such a thing until a couple years ago. The one they ended up using is so much better, especially the way it's edited chronologically with the movie itself. I never really cared for the radio edit or the music video (I find it a bit corny), but I do enjoy the soundtrack version and how it feels unpolished. I think it's the demo since she's only recorded it twice. Once before the movie's release and not too long after for the music video version and Let's Talk About Love.

Will the discs in this gift-set come in a cardbox?

If they do, I might go for the regular edition.

Because (yes, grumpy old out of touch man here shaking his fist at the sky…but maybe he’s actually on to something) the state of pop music (always a genre flirting with being facile and hollow as it was) has descended into utter banality and melodic unsophistication. Even James Cameron’s own AVATARs have tried to catch “pop music end credits” lightning in a bottle twice and thrice and have failed to pull off anything close to “My Heart Will Go On”. Popular music in nearly every genre has been on a 20-year path of de-evolution and needs to go back to the drawing board.

With the Oculus or Quest headsets, no.
They have their own internal storage as well.
You can also copy and paste a VR/3D SBS video, and they will play just fine. Though they also have an HDMI port as well, to hook your TV, AV Receiver or PC.
A PS4 will do that as well, but you have to use Sony's PSVR, which is inferior, in terms of quality, compared to the OLED screens used in the Oculus/Quest.

Tell me about it! Back then, in my youthful musical snobbery, while I cannot say I flat-out disliked it, I used to laugh at the shameless "poppiness" of "My Heart Will Go On" and the likes of that.

Little did I know that, as with so many other pop gems from my heyday, a few decades later I would be sorely missing the craft behind what, in today's "music" world, would be nothing short of a masterpiece.

More recently, Rupert Gregson-Williams tried that with his DCEU scores for Wonder Woman (Sia's To Be Human) and Aquaman (Skylar Grey's Everything I Need). I remember when each film was released and hearing those tracks play over their respective end credits, I thought it was a cool throwback to those signature pop tracks of the 90s. I really miss that aspect, too. They are actually decent songs, but not great.

The song I Want to Spend My Lifetime Loving You from The Mask of Zorro is my absolute favorite, though, and is far superior to My Heart Will Go On in my book.

Oh yes, but it's not to be wasted on children in their mother's basement.

I just know that something beautiful and vital inside of me died when Rihanna started braying over the end credits of my beloved STAR TREK. It was on that day that I realized I’m still in the world but no longer a part of it.

Feels like we’re not getting a steelbook. :/

Guess I’ll go ahead and just order the reg edition. I don’t need all that stuff that comes in the collector’s box.

There is no Steelbook in the US or Canada period.

Either the standard keepcase with slipcover or the collector’s edition with the discs sliding into sleeves.
