Seems the internet consensus is they loved that scene, I guess I'm not surprised many seemed to loved that kind of out of place humor in the Disney trilogy and also love Waititi's humor in general.
It went on longer than it needed to, but I liked how it humanized the troopers. Reminded me of the Death Star Stormtroopers casually conversing about "the new VT-16" in the background of A New Hope.

Great finale. The action sequences were amazing, IG-11 on the speeder bike was hilarious. Loved the banter between the Storm Troopers and what happened to them.

I don't really know why I enjoy this show so much. The story line is really nothing to write home about. But I guess the characters, Star Wars charme, music, and yes, Baby Yoda make this so entertaining.

I didnt like the troopers scene because they hit Baby Yoda and that made me angry. Nobody hits Baby Yoda!!

Great finale, I really enjoyed the whole season. Cant wait for season 2.

Not surprising to come in here and see SW fans complaining about some of the best parts of the final episode.

This first season was hit or miss for me but that last episode was perfect.

Even longer than that. This problem first reared it’s head to me back in the beginning days of World of Warcraft (2004/2005). Tons of players called rogues routes in the chat channels. So annoying lol

The announcement of this show came with a lot of promises and built up expectations on my part. It's so nice to be able to say that the show lived up to and surpassed all of them.

This first season of The Mandalorian feels mostly like an introduction, setting up the world and the characters and making use of a storytelling technique that falls somewhere in between episodic and serialised. It works. Even when Mando is dealing with a side issue, we continue to learn more about Baby Yoda and the relationship between the two characters develops.

It's such a satisfying and easy thing to watch. Opting to use more puppetry over CGI for Baby Yoda was a smart move, and he/she is such a cute and adorable creation that it's impossible not to find yourself deeply caring about what happens to him/her. The episodes which deal with more self-contained stories are surprisingly welcome, giving us a slice-of-life in the Star Wars universe feel and allowing the show to introduce different genres and styles. While the show often presents a slightly more violent and darker angle than we're used to in Star Wars, it's also the funniest thing produced for the franchise yet (although the X-Wing novels from the 1990s are close in the running).

Visually the show is incredible. The Stagecraft technology used gives impressive results and lends the show an epic quality. Not to mention the fantastic set and costume design which fits in very nicely with the world set up in the original trilogy. If was to criticise then I would say some of the alien make-up fell flat (notably in the prison ship episode), but not to a distracting degree.

The music is also a highlight, diverting sharply from what we would consider standard Star Wars music but really working within the style of the show. It took a couple of episodes to get used to but now feels like an integral part.

Most of all, the show has a real emotional impact. Baby Yoda contributes to a big part of that, but Pedro Pascal in the lead role of the Mandalorian manages to do a lot while being behind a mask. His body language and voice performance are simply fantastic. Other characters leave an impression too and we feel like we get to know them even with a fairly small amount of screen time. They are all well written.
[Show spoiler]The deaths of IG-11 and Kuill had an impact, the reveal of Cara Dune being from Alderaan gave us a sudden clear insight into her character. And the moment when Mando finally took off his helmet was brilliantly executed, with a genuine build up and then the reveal of a battered man who seemed slightly frightened that he may be about to die humanised him a lot.

The ending set up a very clear and exciting direction for season 2, plus we had the Dark Saber reveal, which ties into the Clone Wars and Rebels TV shows.
It's clearly made by people who understand and love Star Wars. Honestly, I can't wait.

Not likely. Those are later down the line. Probably 2022-23.

Patience my friend, patience.

Great season ender, but sucks we have to wait until next fall for season 2.

At least from the other Star franchise we got Picard, and Discovery season 3 coming up at some point. Don't know when the next Stranger Things is hitting. Anyone know? How about the Marvel shows on Disney+?

They've been filming lately, probably wrap up production in Spring for a Fall release next year.

Now that they showed that the Moff has the dark saber, I hope that means the armorer is really Sabine. That would be awesome.

Definitely liked this better then TROS.

Sabine gave the Saber to Bo-Katan and is possibly still out searching for Ezra at this point in timeline. Not to mention given The Armorer's helmet I'd guess she is Zabrak. If you want to go way out into tinfoil she could be

Somehow rescued and raised foundling (like they hammered in this episode). The age would make it possible and the horn pattern isn't far off. I really only put it out there because we know how Filoni likes to work in characters.

I haven't been keeping watch on theory threads so maybe the real lore masters of the web have found a better idea.

Is this guaranteed to get a Blu-ray release.

Thinking about doing the free Disney+ trial and watching it on my iPad, which I hate doing.

...might just wait and watch it fresh if a Blu-ray comes out.

Nobody knows. I wouldn't count on it anytime soon, given that this is one of Disney+'s strongest draws (which doesn't have a whole lot of new content at the moment).

Don't do that. This show has theater quality visuals, would be a shame not to watch it on a big screen. Get a Roku or something.

Why do people think Force choking is automatically Dark Side? Luke did it to the pig guards in Return Of the Jedi.

I was thinking maybe she heard about the destruction of Mandalore and went back to rebuild, but it would be a tight fit with the timeline according to the end of Rebels, I agree there. Your idea might be more plausible.

Speaking of the end of Rebels though, since Ahsoka is still alive at this point maybe she will show up. That would be truly badass.

But that was at a point where it was sort of on the table that Luke could be tempted to the dark side. It's kind of a guilt by association thing because you tend to associate it with Vader. But theoretically TK would be a universal power.
