Some of it I've really enjoyed - both animations, SNW, Season 3 of Picard, some I've liked bits of - Discovery, and some I've had major problems with - Season 1 & 2 of Picard, S31...

I will say, S31 is the only Star Trek that's available on physical media that I don't own, and have no real intent to own. It just did not work for me at all, and I loved the Georgiou character in Discovery, and Section 31 in general, but neither were serviced particularly well in the film. I doubt I'll ever watch it again.

I will give the Academy series a chance but suspect it won't be for me, but I really hope the "sitcom" series never sees the light of day.
I'll buy and watch section 31 in 4k, if and when they remaster DS9 and Voyager and put them out on Bluray.
Everything else is cool.

Ok, well, this is the last I'm gonna say about this...

1. You said that NOBODY who watched Picard and played Mass Effect would think that Picard ripped it off. I offered a multitude of evidence to support my point, and excluded a LOT so as not to spam the forum. Just do a google search for "Picard Mass Effect" and you'll see videos, tweets, posts on TrekBBS, Reddit, Facebook, whatever. And your response is to just dismiss everything.

2. I'm not confusing it with Discovery S2. At all. (See 1.)

3. Coming after people for "hating" is just ridiculous. Do you think I'm gonna be a lifelong Star Trek fan and just ARBITRARILY hate a series? Read the room. Am I gonna do over 500 episodes of a Star Trek podcast over 10 years and ARBITRARILY hate a series? It's gotta EARN my hate, and earn it, it did. So enough with this silliness saying that people are "haters", which implies hating things out of the gate.

Anyway...

I've been rewatching to prepare for season three and finished the first season. Going from Enterprise, one of my top Star Trek shows directly to this is really something. It's wild how much the special effects have improved, they are outstanding in every episode. I love the art direction in Strange New Worlds and everything just looks so damn cool and futuristic. Ethan Peck as Spock is really doing the character justice and was a great pick for the role. It's so nice to have more great Star Trek to enjoy.

I just watched the first episode. So far, I'm not a fan. Everyone seems to like it so I'm surprised I didn't. Maybe I will like it as I watch more episodes.

I'm not familiar with the game so I didn't know it was such a ripoff. Doesn't surprise me though. I just thought the alien robot tentacles or whatever coming through the portal at the end was a ripoff of the first Avengers movie.

I thought Picard turning into an android was stupid, but like I said, I didn't know what was being ripped off. I get that they wanted to show Picard's willingness to sacrifice himself to save the day. But a better ending would've been for Q to show up at the very end, say "I'm not finished with you yet Picard!", snap his fingers and Picard's tumor to disappear, allowing him to remain human.

And don't get me started on an android with a positronic brain being able to mind-meld.

Since this will be ending with a 5th season (Disappointed because the seasons are so short) I'm hoping we get some payoff with that Sybok tease.

Late to the party but I don't even know what to think about anyone that won't admit Picard S1 is a complete ****ing ripoff of Mass Effect. It was disgraceful.

There is no Picard Season 1 (or 2). Just 3 which is among the best Trek.

I just care. Video games don’t matter much to me.

I don’t see the point in giving a sh*t about what Picard 1 ripped off when Picard 3 basically ripps off the best bits of its own franchise. It’s a basically a Star Trek greatest hits. None of which means a damn as long as you enjoyed them. Which I did.

Thoroughly enjoyed the third season of Picard. The only slight disappointment was that it was the Borg, again. I'd have preferred them constraining the Borg to the earlier seasons and perhaps move De Lancie/Q back to the final year.

I know, bloody Borg again, but I like that this time the TNG and VOY Borg arcs fully dovetailed and resolved. It’s like the big baddie Borg get their final end, with only small isolated offshoots like Jurati-Borg left scattered around.

No doubt they’ll undo it, again. For now at least I feel the Borg story is finally over!

I don’t know how much you can without contradicting Star Trek V. It probably was just what was shown, a tease.

Yeah, I never thought Sybok was anything more than a tease.

I wish we would have gotten a season based on the tease at the end of Picard Season 3. Call the show Seven IDGAF but it would have worked. Even Calling it Picard Season 4 would have been fine.

Season 3 should have been a full return of the Dominion, sadly René Auberjonois would not have been able to return due to his death in 2019 but they really could have done a full on badass Dominion story. Salome Jens could have even been brought in as cameo character. Could have even brought back Sisko, Bashir, Quark, Miles, Kira, and Jake.

Or the whole "we made him weak and old and decrepit because...reasons".

I have friends who loved TNG and I'm like, you can skip the first two seasons, you just need to know that Picard is an android now, and Seven is back (oh and she has a girlfriend).

It really grew on me, now I love it. What's so great about it is that it feels more like both Classic and TNG era Trek because, especially as the show goes on, each episode has it's own tone. Some are more light-hearted, some more dark and dreary, and some are just downright wacky but fun (I love the musical, best since the Buffy musical, and they also make a ton of references to it).

That's what I really like about the show - just like the other Trek periods, not every episode is going to be everyone's favorite, because it touches so many genres, but the ones that are in your wheelhouse are great. Plus, I have to say, over time - I've really started to like most of the characters. Unlike Discovery, they actually are likable and interesting to watch develop.

It's more so wishful thinking at this point as I want it to happen, but won't be heartbroken if it doesn't.

Besides at this point Star Trek has been contradicting itself since almost the beginning anyway. Much more frequently in recent times it seems.

I mean my second favorite show of the franchise is Enterprise and I know how much that went with the flow when it came to canon. So one more contradiction won't ruin it for me.

As long as they can tell thought provoking, imaginative, socially conscience, self aware, and with a bit of camp thrown in here & there; all while traveling aboard a majestic looking ship(or space station for the DS9 folks), with an interesting crew to share along for the adventures & memories. Star Trek will always be worth a look!
