Yeah, I did find the Warner DVD on eBay (for over $50) but it looks like it can be had on Amazon for $17.99.
Seeing as it had a WAC DVD, maybe a blu-ray will happen.
I checked out the film after Richard Brody had a blurb about it, so there is interest.

Mine arrives in a few days. It always used to pop up in my recommendations on Amazon Prime but I never got around to watching it. All the praise it has been getting since the blu was announced (plus Fun City's track record of solid releases) made me decide to finally give it a shot.

It still looks better than past releases. The DNR is noticeable, but it's not exactly Predator bad.

I just watched Alphabet City and I am in love. That film is pure visual candy, and the soundtrack! Mwah! Just perfect. I've seen a lot of reviews comment that it has no plot which is baffling to me because there is a crystal clear arc to the story. It might be simply told, but you'd think it was just about Vincent Spano aimlessly wandering around town to a sync soundtrack for 90-minutes.

Once again FCE surprises me. I had never heard of Bilitis or, for that matter, David Hamilton. This looks like another winner. I continue to love the diversity from you guys (jah13).

This is honestly surprising. I mean, is this the case with everyone buying this or is it just out of blind loyalty to the brand? I’m genuinely curious. I’m going to suppose and hope the latter. In such case, that’s fine. I just can’t and that’s fine too.

Another of his flicks, Premiers désirs, is on the Criterion Channel right now.

I slagged this FCE release over in the VinSyn thread, but I will say "props" to FCE for releasing a film by a dude who has been accused by multiple parties of child rape (he killed himself as a result.) There's entirely too much destructive "me too-ing" going on the last few years, often unfounded and unnecessarily ruining careers. It's just too bad Hamilton isn't an artist the stature of Polanski (not that that would justify that sort of behavior.)

I read up about him. I'm well aware of his history. I'm still excited for this film. I'm sure FCE is aware just the same.

Yes, we are, of course, aware of Hamilton's legal issues, the accusations against him and his demise, and it is addressed in the supplemental materials.
