Amazon had it listed as a 5-disc set in the Product Description:
"The U.S.S. Enterprise boldly debuted on the big screen with the cast of the original STAR TREK series, including William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig, and James Doohan. When an unidentified alien intruder destroys three powerful Klingon cruisers, Captain James T. Kirk returns to the helm of a newly transformed U.S.S. Enterprise to take command. This 5-disc set includes the new Director’s Edition, the theatrical cut, and a special longer cut all on 4K Ultra HD along with the newly remastered director’s cut on Blu-ray™, the previously released theatrical cut on Blu-ray™ and special features on Blu-ray™. The set is presented in deluxe packaging along with exclusive collectibles, including reproductions of original promotional material, a booklet with behind-the-scenes images, stickers, and more."

It's a great way to try and pump up sales. Maybe they realize it's overpriced.

Not only is it overpriced, but someone in the USA can import it from the UK and even with shipping it is less expensive. I just hope the BD's aren't region locked. Hopefully that little tidbit of information will make it out in a timely manner.

Is the UK version the same one as the US version including the SLV?

For me, if I'm being honest, the most distracting thing about the new DE is that hero shot of V'ger. It's in the trailer. It's the most obvious piece of CGI in the movie and the colors seem so out of place. Crazy neon.
I say that having seen the Fathom Event for it. I rewatched some parts on Paramount+ but the app messes with the frame rate or something. It's too smooth.

I'm mostly worried about it getting damaged en route. There aren't any UK retailers that I know of that have awesome packaging.

As far as we know so far, yes. Mileage, Warp Factor, and other distance measurements may vary.

I honestly can’t remember where I read it (Twitter, I THINK), but I swear I saw that they were aware of the error and that they were going to correct it before the physical release.

I will never understand why they did that. I thought the entire point of redoing the DE was to be slavishly faithful to the work that Robert Wise actually did on the SD DE, but just to update it for HD resolution. The original DE was praised for how well-integrated its new shots were with the work done in 1979. It was shown as an example of how to do these kinds of projects tastefully without drawing undue attention to the work…and then they go and make it look more crisp and colorful? I’ll never understand that decision. And even if the perspective was never right, they should have just replicated the lounge scene from the original DE (just the nacelle out the window), not tried to (poorly) reinvent the wheel.

Come think of it, this philosophy was obvious right from the start. “Hey guys, last time we changed the credits from white to gold. This time, let’s add SPARKLIES!!”

Supposedly, they’re also finishing the SLV scene when Kirk leaves the ship.

That was covered a few pages back, but yes, they say that the shot is fixed.

I just got an email from Bullmoose saying that the street dates had changed with no new date. Any word anywhere else of a delay?

V'Ger was fairly bright & colorful while muted by its cloud. Without the cloud it's going to be even brighter and more colorful.

It also looks better in HDR.

It's Paramount it shouldn't be region locked. Especially at this point in time the discs ought to be exactly the same.

I’ve watched it in HDR, and I simply don’t think the new shot looks anything like the one they did on the previous DE.

Just saw the DE in the cinema a few nights ago. I didn’t find the officer’s lounge scene to be that bad… except for the very last shot. If it wasn’t for that last shot, I imagine the complaints wouldn't be as loud. It is too bad they couldn’t make it look better. Arguably they should have just left it alone if that was the best they could manage. But ultimately, it’s only a few seconds.

The V’Ger shot is a fine idea, and improves that whole sequence. It’s easy to imagine that a wide shot like that was intended to be done in 1979. Don’t forget, the 2002 version of the DE was a bit rushed and underfunded, so the fact that this shot wasn’t featured in that release doesn’t necessarily tell us anything about Wise’s intentions. The idea behind this new DE is not just to recreate the 2002 DE in higher rez, but to better and more fully realize their intentions than they were able to in 2002. However I will say that the wide shot would have been less jarring if it had been designed to look more like what could have been achieved with a model in 1979, and less like a CGI creation.
