Just watched Dead Pit 4K. Looks good to me. Grain had nice balance and not noisy at all. No swarms. HDR is very subtle , which was nice. A nice upgrade from the blu. Unfortunately, disc froze up several times. Ejected and cleaned a few times. Still froze again, but was able to fast forward past it. Played on Oppo 203. Anyone run into this? Besides this annoyance, a nice purchase.

As promised, I took some screenshots that show how the UHD has gone for a more natural look, taking away much of the stylized lighting from the BD, which I liked. The first of each pair of examples is from the UHD with the second being of the BD. I rushed through these on an older phone but I wanted to get the point across with the differences in color.

Oh, I see the issue on my phone but not on my computer. I'll go back to fix it if I can. Sorry, it's my first time uploading pics here. I thought it would be easier. Hate that you need to have a URL and can't just load them on here. I took 8 pics in all and you can only attach 5 at a time.

Has anyone had success contacting Dark Force regarding order issues? I've made attempts via the contact form on the webstore (when it's operational), and by email, but I've yet to receive a response.

Any anecdotal experiences would be appreciated!

I've contacted them before and they replied back via email. You might also contact them on here or their Facebook page.

May I ask where you guys ordered Dead Pit from? Is it the Dark Force site? I looked and can't find the 4K.

I watched it all the way through on the same player ,Oppo 203, no freezes or skips. Only issue was a sound dropout early on but that is a master issue as the exact same dropout is in the Blu ray

You may want to try cleaning the disc, a lot coming these days with gunk on them that causes those issues

I don't believe they've put anymore up for sale since the pre-sale listing ended last year.

Mine shipped from them the other day, so should be here soon. I'm sure they'll eventually put more stock up for sale on the website.

Like I stated, cleaned it several times. I see some scratches now on it in a different light and that has to be the reason. Check your disks when you get them, as my copy has 3 of them. One big and 2 very small, but they are there.

Commentary is the only extra on the 4K disc , but they included the old Blu for it's extras

I watched it myself in 4K and it doesn't seem like all of the stylized lighting was removed, just in some scenes it was reduced. There are some scenes that still have a very green push to highlight the "evil." Not sure why and which is correct. I.e. remember with the original Halloween everyone insisted the massive blue push of the original Anchor Bay DVD was the way to go , but in later years opinions changed as to how much was appropriate.

Thanks for checking, but that is a major disappointment. It was promised that subtitles would be included. Would not have bought if they were not included.
