Marty is a pretty big proponent of physical media, so I'm sure this is getting a US release at some point. The question is if it's through Paramount or Criterion? If Paramount, I could see a release early 2024. If Criterion, could be awhile. Maybe late 2024 at the earliest.

And Paramount is a cheap Hollywood movie studio with their 4K Blu-ray packages. And Apple is no oranges. DVD is retro. The big screen is the way of King Kong and Godzilla. 3D Blu-ray? ![]() |

Well, I've certainly done my part for this.
On a spur of the moment thing, my friend and I caught a matinee of this again, today. They wanted to go and see it, so I went again. I've now seen it three times on the big screen. Plus, I pre-ordered the Italian steelbook BD. I've done what I can for it, LOL. Now, my son and I are headed back out shortly to see "Napoleon", too. BIG movie day for me. |

New York Times said 45-day theatrical window. So 45 days from release will be in 2 weeks. So either then or shortly after. I assume Apple would want at least a week to promote its Apple TV premiere.

Do you think it will have English subtitles for the non-English dialogue?
I haven't seen the film (4 hours without a bathroom break), so I don't know if the film has English subs "burnt it" even when the film is otherwise subtitled (as it used to be in the days of film prints). |

But the same label previously released the also-Apple streamer, "CODA", and it is very English friendly. It has the English language soundtrack, and includes forced subs in English for the sign language scenes. Or, you can select an English subs option that subs the whole film, spoken or unspoken, in English. Or, you can select an Italian dubbed soundtrack and there are also Italian subs for the whole film, spoken and unspoken. But, if you just choose the English language track, but don't select subs, you get the English language film but still with subs for the sign language scenes. I'm hoping they did something similar for this film. I'm hoping this will get a US release soon, anyway. |

152 million is pretty good for a long dark adult drama like this. And time will be its greatest vindicator, when years from now it's a classic film that people still study and talk about. |

Whoever cut that bit from De Niro's speech was trying to do him a favour. And his behaviour toward Apple was extremely ungracious considering they funded Killers of the Flower Moon even when it must have been clear it would never make its budget back.

Killers of the Flower Moon and Napoleon are Apple TV+
They don't calculate the revenues like other films @ the box office; it's a different system. I'm not sure if they'll lose money; I doubt it. But I could be right. |

The diff is Apple isn't dependent upon it's film division to turn a profit. It literally makes billion from it's device divide division. So in business terms - apples film and TV division is a loss leader. |
