NDA I'd assume. I met a guy who was working on some SW related stuff and he just told me "omg its awesome, everything about these designs is amazing and you'll love them when they come out... but I can't tell you anything or they'll fire me and murder my family"

Dude, people have no earthly idea how far some of these contracts reach. I have read some outrageously ignorant comments on this board regarding NDAs. (BTW, I'm not saying your comment is ignorant, just saying in general I have read some outlandishly misinformed comments).

I do creative consulting for a few of Sony's properties, and they actually have people who monitor my message board accounts. There are things I would loooooove to talk about but flat out can't.

Teaser posters for some properties are just the tip of the iceberg.

This. I work as a gaming journalist and I've seen some careers destroyed by breaking NDA, intentional or not. It's basically legal/career suicide in a lot of (if not most) cases.

After 20 years post-college, I know a whole lot of people in entertainment, I never ask any of them anything about upcoming projects. It's obnoxious in the first place, and places them in a position of risk in the second. If they volounteer things, great, but I never ask them for information about upcoming releases.

Just read the Vanity Fair article. When they're talking about how the movie will go down a more retro and less CG oriented route, Larry Kasdan says that even Lucas was coming around to that way of thinking. Makes me wonder what his sequel trilogy would've been like, could it have been the fanboy rehabilitation of George Lucas? But $4 billion simoleons were plonked on the table and that was that. **** the fanboys.
