Speaking of which, if LFL didn't manage to get hold of Struzan to do the Ep VII poster then Shipper should be next on the list.

That poster was already around many months ago. I see no reasons for Lucasfilm not to call Drew Struzan, but his retired he could refuse to do it. But I hope he'll do it for old times sake.

Now that's a movie I would really want to see!

Luke's been hiding in a cave for 30 years. The realization that his father was his enemy and that he killed his father got to him. He's assisted there by someone named Donny, played by Steve Buscemi.

Some new character (we'll call him "Leboya") who has "the force" and Luke's lightsaber tries to get Luke involved with the wars again:

Leboya: "Master Skywalker, you have to get involved. The galaxy is at stake!"

Luke: "Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not Master Skywalker anymore. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino of if you insist, your Lukeness, if you're not into the whole brevity thing."

Leboya: "No really, you have to get involved. There is evil out there!"

Luke: "Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."

Leboya: "Master, Skywalker, why are they doing this? Why are they so evil?

Luke: "I told you man, it's the Dude. It's like what Lenin said... you look for the person who will benefit, and, uh, uh..."

Donny: "I am the walrus."

Luke : "You know what I'm trying to say..."

Donny: "I am the walrus."

Leboya: "That f__king Sith..."

The Dude: "Oh yeah!"

Donny: "I am the walrus."

Leboya: "Shut the f__k up, Donny! V.I. Lenin. Emperor Palpatine! Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov! Darth Vader! "

Donny: "What the f__k is he talking about, Dude?"

Etc.

EDIT: Just saw on other sites where a few members considered this a spoiler and got all riled up. So I'm putting this in spoiler tags.

[Show spoiler]Looks like C-3PO will have a new bright red arm in The Force Awakens.

Man, and people thought Darth Lucas was evil for pimping out all that merch back in the day. With Disney in the driving seat, we ain't seen nothing yet.

So... since we're only having one IMAX sequence in The Force Awakens
[Show spoiler](that being the Millennium Falcon chase)
, does that mean we're only getting, like what, about 10-12 minutes of IMAX footage in the movie?

If so, what a waste, considering how Star Trek Into Darkness had about 30+ minutes of IMAX footage.

whatever - I dont want any gimmicky scenes in order to extend Imax scenes which could hurt the story.

Exactly, there's no need for gimmicks, it's freakin' Star Wars. Just having a fun, exciting film will suffice.

That's Kilo Ren, its just angled weird. Note that the "butt" of the chair is black with no printing (similar to the blue of the one to its left) giving the illusion of a womanly curve and skirt. The mask is clearly Kylo Ren's.

And that's been known for awhile as well. The other pic you posted was actually leaked months ago and he has
[Show spoiler]the red arm
in the pic on the table (though I think it was a different piece of merch we saw then, bedsheets maybe?).

Indeed! Paul Shipper, I hope, will be the next Struzan!

A member sent me the link to his site, and that Jaws poster is just worthy!

The point is that the dreadful poster on the previous page is decidedly NOT a Paul Shipper joint, but yes, I'm glad that he specifically is getting tapped to do Shout's covers, unlike the shite that they usually serve up.

I think the chase could easily be up to 20 minutes long.

I thought the Mad Max and UHF covers were decent.

And for the record I like Struzan, I just feel that he's overrated for being a human version of Photoshop. I thought the original OT posters (from 1977/1980/1983) were much better being completely original works of art and not a painted compilation of publicity shots like the SE and most of Struzan's poster art.

I know! Which is why I pointed out I would like to see him tabbed to do the artwork.

Peter, Mad Max was fine because it was a Shipper piece.

Your reply was to my initial post in which I said Shout would no doubt be signing up the mook who did that fubar Ep VII poster. Y'know, because their custom covers are usually shi....oh, never mind.
