Not a big deal. I've been around long enough to know: that no matter how perfect something may be, it will always have it's detractors. ![]() Doesn't take away from my enjoyment of this fine series! |

This show is impossible to judge until at least halfway through. That said, if someone didn't like it, that is their loss and shouldn't trigger a pages long back and forth.
As someone who never gave it a look until the Best Buy sample disc, I loved it. In fact, I flew through the rest of the season in 4 days. Normally not a big fan of the fantasy genre but this had a great mix of subgenres I enjoy. I just focus more on the politics of the show and not so much on what's north of the wall (in fact the opening of the series was the only part I didn't care for.) |

I haven't read any of the books so I have no clue as to what's ahead. But, if it becomes a show about dragons and mythical beasts I may end up tuning out. The politics, the positioning for power, etc..in my opinion is what makes this a good show. |

I've been watching HBO's Game of Thrones on Blu-Ray purchased from Amazon. Great show!
Discs 1-3 worked fine, but disc 4 wouldn't load and prompted for an update. After that, disc 4 still wouldn't work, and now NO Blu-Ray can get past the copy protection, not discs 1-3 and not any other disc I have. What could disc 4 have done to disable my player? I actually had a backup, and reverting to it didn't fix things, so it's not anything on my c drive. Could it have written something to my drive's firmware? I also know my PowerDVD is out of date (version 7), but I don't like the idea of paying $100 a year to get a new version the only purpose of which is to deal with new forms of copy protection that keeps me from watching discs I buy. I can get everything to work again by running AnyDVD, but I prefer not to do that too. It's really frustrating that blu-ray makers use copy protection that makes their products so hard to use for their paying customers, while not actually stopping pirates. ![]() |

What player do you have? You're not alone. I have an Oppo BDP-93 and the only disc that will work for me is Disc 1. Numerous players are reporting problems with this set. HBO must've done some wacky stuff with the piracy protection with this release. It works so well it doesn't even let you watch the retail version, it's more like playback protection. I agree with you. It's so frustrating! DVDs are so much more user friendly; I can see why they are still more popular. |

While I have not watched every episode I did load all of my discs, and they did so with no problem in my PS3. It's a shame, because DRM and copy protection only really hurts the legit(paying) customer. Pirates will easily finds workarounds, they always do...because that's ALL they do! But it's good to know that these studios are looking out for us. ![]() |

The show is presented from the perspective of 8 different characters, so not every character will get a lot of screen time. By the 4th or 5th episode, you'll get a better idea of what each character's primary conflict is and how it will play out for the rest of the season.

![]() [Show spoiler] That's what (thankfully) brought me back to watch episode 2.I may go back and watch them all over again before starting the next season. I know I missed a ton of little details while flying through it the first time. |

The Complete Guide to Westeros info on disc 2 was amazing in giving a lot of background info about the backstory of the mad king and such (players, motives, etc) ... elements that were mentioned without going into great detail in the show .... really fleshed everything out nicely. |
