10 Episodes, not 13.

Did you guys watch the BTS? There was a new trailer at the end after it was over.

Just because he doesn't like doesn't mean everyone has to jump all over him. If everyone thought like: BluBong/KoukiR/rickah88 the world would be a very boring place.
Hopefully that person gave a few more episodes a try and might report back that he liked it. If not, well nothing in life is 100% perfect.
Although GoT does come pretty close!
The fact that he judged something without watching the entirety of the season does give us the right to jump down his throat. If he had watched the whole thing and said he didn't like it is a whole different story and would make more sense. Not everyone is going to like the same thing.

I never pass judgement on something until I know everything.

I understand, and I agree! But not everyone thinks that way, which was my point.
Not a big deal. I've been around long enough to know: that no matter how perfect something may be, it will always have it's detractors.

Doesn't take away from my enjoyment of this fine series!

This show is impossible to judge until at least halfway through. That said, if someone didn't like it, that is their loss and shouldn't trigger a pages long back and forth.

As someone who never gave it a look until the Best Buy sample disc, I loved it. In fact, I flew through the rest of the season in 4 days. Normally not a big fan of the fantasy genre but this had a great mix of subgenres I enjoy. I just focus more on the politics of the show and not so much on what's north of the wall (in fact the opening of the series was the only part I didn't care for.)

While I agree 100%, technically aren't you contradicting yourself there?

I watched it, and saw a glimpse of more Joffrey ass kicking by Tyrion

I liked it for the same reasons.

I haven't read any of the books so I have no clue as to what's ahead. But, if it becomes a show about dragons and mythical beasts I may end up tuning out.

The politics, the positioning for power, etc..in my opinion is what makes this a good show.

I've been watching HBO's Game of Thrones on Blu-Ray purchased from Amazon. Great show!

Discs 1-3 worked fine, but disc 4 wouldn't load and prompted for an update. After that, disc 4 still wouldn't work, and now NO Blu-Ray can get past the copy protection, not discs 1-3 and not any other disc I have.

What could disc 4 have done to disable my player? I actually had a backup, and reverting to it didn't fix things, so it's not anything on my c drive. Could it have written something to my drive's firmware?

I also know my PowerDVD is out of date (version 7), but I don't like the idea of paying $100 a year to get a new version the only purpose of which is to deal with new forms of copy protection that keeps me from watching discs I buy.

I can get everything to work again by running AnyDVD, but I prefer not to do that too.

It's really frustrating that blu-ray makers use copy protection that makes their products so hard to use for their paying customers, while not actually stopping pirates.

What player do you have?

You're not alone. I have an Oppo BDP-93 and the only disc that will work for me is Disc 1. Numerous players are reporting problems with this set. HBO must've done some wacky stuff with the piracy protection with this release. It works so well it doesn't even let you watch the retail version, it's more like playback protection.

My hardware player is LG HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW UH08LS10, my software is PowerDVD 7.3.

I agree with you. It's so frustrating! DVDs are so much more user friendly; I can see why they are still more popular.

You hit the nail on the head right there!
While I have not watched every episode I did load all of my discs, and they did so with no problem in my PS3.
It's a shame, because DRM and copy protection only really hurts the legit(paying) customer. Pirates will easily finds workarounds, they always do...because that's ALL they do!
But it's good to know that these studios are looking out for us.

The show is presented from the perspective of 8 different characters, so not every character will get a lot of screen time. By the 4th or 5th episode, you'll get a better idea of what each character's primary conflict is and how it will play out for the rest of the season.

Not really. I wasn't saying that I loved that episode, but rather after watching the whole season, the series in general Actually, the first episode didn't have me "hooked" until
[Show spoiler]Jamie pushed Bran out of the window.
That's what (thankfully) brought me back to watch episode 2.

I may go back and watch them all over again before starting the next season. I know I missed a ton of little details while flying through it the first time.

Agree .... I only got to this by chance last night while starting to revisit some of the episodes

The Complete Guide to Westeros info on disc 2 was amazing in giving a lot of background info about the backstory of the mad king and such (players, motives, etc) ... elements that were mentioned without going into great detail in the show .... really fleshed everything out nicely.

The only thing I hate about this set is that there is NO resume function!

Just picked this up today, can't wait to get this in the mail. I ordered the books last night, so I have a lot of reading to do.
