How bout this...

One AVS pro-HD-DVD zealot PM's another and says "Bet you I can get 2,000 replies in less then 20 hours to a thread I'm about to start on the blu-ray.com site"

In the meanwhile, time marches on...

I can assure everyone.........there aint squat going on here right now.

Looks like an ordinary day. Folks pulling into the parking lot. Opps, one lady just dumped coffee in her lap going over a speed bump. There's another guy carring a briefcase. Ufortunately, no media trucks...no Blu-ray banners.

I'll give another update at 9:00AM if anything changes.
LOL like they're gonna be actuall media if that happen, the Paramount thing all worked on the net, they were no interview live..

Am I to understand right that Universal's exclusive deal with hddud ends in 3 weeks?

That means the timing of the WB announcement would be CLASSIC. That would make a lot more sense as to why this is possibly happening today!!

Fingers crossed!!!!

Lee Stewart is either just milking this, is the poster, or is telling the truth.

I am inclined to believe him to be honest...

Stockstar, holy shit, if this is a hoax, you get my vote for perpetrating it!

also WB said they were watching holiday sales closely and making a decision off of that. everybody knows blu-ray is going to be dominate, so if a deal has been struck already, this would have been the perfect excuse come Q1 to say, we said in Q3, Q4 sales would make are deciscion and they have. this compeletly destroys the one WB press statement deny BD exclusiveness with about 5 big things confriming it: New Line, IFA, PCM, etc.

really at this point I don't know that it matters if this is true or not. This has been a wonderful thing for the forum. The massive amounts of people posting, new people making accounts just to get in on this. And overall some of the posts have been hilarious.
Now maybe we can get Superman to fly around the world fast enough to go into the future, find out and come back and tell us.

I'm starting to be more skeptical... This could very well be an evil prank.

If this rumor turns out to be false I expect Bly-ray.com to be tougher on trolls in the future.

The entire optical media world knows about this thread!

That would mean the exclusivity deal only lasted 2 months. Yeah that makes a lot of sense.

I'm sorry, but if it is an HD-DVD guy, I figure that anyone can claim responsibility and why should anyone in the HD-DVD camp believe that the person who takes responsibility really is the person who put this down, if it is a prank on us and the whole community. Actually, if I had put this out there, I don't think I'd want anyone to know, because not only would I have made enemies on here, but in the HD-DVD camp as well.
