Captain America: First Avenger is an okay watch but slightly droll at times. I think a part of it was the aesthetic of the time period didn't pull together as strongly as it should have despite the director making the Rocketeer which was period based and really quite well done in aesthetic.

Winter Soldier is the best of the stand "Alone" Captain America movies and there's only really been two arguably because the cast of Civil War was so damn large that it wasn't quite as personal to him as a character as Winter Soldier was. Civil War had some very distinct character arcs to get almost everybody in the picture.

Civil War is a solid watch but it's Avengers basically without a massive big bad to fight against like Infinity War will have. I'd say my list is easily:

1) Winter Soldier
2) Civil War
3) First Avenger

Civil War a part of me feels had "Captain America" slightly shoe horned in to the larger picture they were going to craft and didn't think "Civil War" with another characters name would draw as much attention. So they tried to think of how to anchor the story around him. Bucky is still out there, make him a "terrorist" causing Cap to go defend his friend whilst then revealing he killed Stark's parents whilst riffing back to Age of Ultron again for a bastardised version of Baron Zemo as a Sokovian wanting revenge and to conveniently "Divide" the team in preparation for Infinity War.

The Russos even came out and admitted that Civil War was made as a direct result of Batman v Superman on the part of Marvel. Also consider that the "Floating dirt" is no worse than when Marvel sent Stark a "Fed Ex" (Great and subtle product placement Marvel(!)" with an old "retro" phone to dial Cap on. "Hey Cap, you know how you said we can be friends again? Well, I need you for a world ending event I know you'd show up for anyways and have helped in whilst I'd put my feelings aside to save Earth then deal with you".

I think Marvel didn't get pulled up on a lot of stuff that got nitpicked on BvS.

I read the Infinity Gauntlet not too long ago. It was a good read. The movie should be good.

Ditto that, I think it is also my least favourite too although it has stiff competition from Iron Man 2.

I don't want Wolverine in the MCU, would prevent films like Logan.

Logan is suppose to be the end of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. Not the character in general.

Don't bet on it. The civil war comic book was a good read as well. Then Disney put it on film and it became a two hour RDJ joke fest. Expect more of the same crap from infinity "war"

I was hoping for another Cap movie though.

He has the best movies so far from this universe. The First Avenger-Winter Soldier-Civil War is even better than IM movies or Avenger movies. At least until Infinity Wars arrives.
Of the phase one characters (excluding Hulk) I'd love for them all to have a 4th, bow out kinda movie.
So each has their trilogy, then a 4th where they bow out and hand over the mantle's.

I love Edinburgh too, my wife and I are trying to move there but we just can't get jobs for some reason, been applying since January but not had a single interview. Reckon it's because I'm English

and it doesnt need too - Fox are doing well with the R/15 cert movies, so keep it that way for now.

Unless there's a character that NEEDS(like Wolverine and Deadpool) to be a 15/18 certificate (but the MCU are doing that via Netflix)

Exactly let all 3 be their unique flavor

Marvel can be the 4 quad dc can do their dark stuff (but hopefully in the future itll be more tdk less bvs) and fox will have their R movies

Thats the way you stop fatigue
