It's Affleck. Surprised me at first but probably shouldn't have given his relationship with WB. I do think this means they didn't think that a Supes sequel could stand on its own and they needed to bring in some additional "firepower," both in terms of the Batman character and the "movie star" with Affleck.

The funny thing is he played Superman, or at least the actor that played Superman before too lol. What a terrible move though. Even if he can look the part, he has a certain reputation as an actor and fans as you can see are already tearing him a new one.

I'm OK with this. The guy fits the look and can act well. But didn't he previously say he had absolutely no interest in being involved with Justice League stuff? Or was that just him saying he didn't want to direct a Justice League movie?

Certainly not who I would have picked, but my dollars aren't on the line to turn a profit on this deal. He can certainly act, and Ill defer to Snyder to put the product he wants to see on screen. Affleck (like Bale) takes his job very seriously and I can see him diving hard into this role. Someone is about to get some muscles.

Hoping that Snyder and Goyer let him have some input on the script. He's a hell of a director.

Here's hoping to Affleck directing the new Batman trilogy.

Here we go again. Start off with a good batman/Bruce Wayne, then follow up with a new actor/director and sequels that get worse and worse.
There's something that seems so familiar about this. I really hope it isn't true.

Maybe they will go in a different direction away from the "dark" stuff and put him in a grey and black suit....with yellow trim.

It could be worse, but I'm still pretty "meh" about it right now. They picked the perfect time to go with him, he's been on fire lately.

I'm assuming this is some kind of package deal in which he directs Justice League or something. WB has had a hard on for him forever.

EDIT - Thumbs down not because I don't like him. Hell, I've loved his recent directorial efforts and acting. I just don't think he's a good choice for the role. They could have easily gone with someone relatively unknown. I was hoping he would stick to directing/starring in serious movies, which he excels at IMO.

I will only say that at 41, he's too old. Unless he's playing a seasoned Batman in the movie, which I don't see if you're trying to lead into JLA.
