Watched the extended version last night for the first time in while. Really enjoyed the film again. It's also still a very nice disc that projects really well and the audio is very impressive.

I still haven't seen the extended version myself, but have only watched the film twice. Once in the theater and at friend's of a friend's party. Look to be mostly CGI blood with some extended footage here and there.

I personally love the extended version over the theatrical, just wish they added the alternate ending for the icing on the cake.

I went on a non-MCU Marvel run recently (34 movies I think) and this one has held up very well. And the Japan setting was really nice.

Sorry to bump up the thread, but with upcoming Deadpool 3, where Wolverine makes an appearance, I really hope Disney would release The Wolverine (including extended cut) and X-Men Origins: Wolverine on 4K UHD; I'm sure double pack or triple pack including Logan (and Logan Noir) would be decent release.

I would even settle for complete X-men Collection Set (X-men 1~Dark Phoenix (and The New Mutants)), similar to MCU 10 year collection.

Never apologize for thread bumping as long as it isn't just bumping for bump's sake. That's the whole idea of forums.

I doubt it will happen, but I would definitely buy a version of The Wolverine extended cut with the alternate ending replacing the original. That seems like it would lead nicely into Deadpool 3--unless they end up making jokes about the alternate footage of course. Don't worry, that's the last time I bring this up in this forum.

Well, it's July and no 4K release of X-men Origins: Wolverine nor The Wolverine (both cuts).
It would have been nice if they got a higher quality, as tie-in for Deadpool & WOLVERINE.
Disney could have release Wolverine Trilogy 4K set, consisting Origins, The Wolverine, and Logan; even if it was just 3-disc 4K UHD (with or without Unleashed Extended for The Wolverine or Logan Noir (Black and White)), it still would have been nice upgrade.

I guess I just have to wait for Wolverine Ultimate Collection 4K set or something, includes aforementioned movies and Deadpool & Wolverine.

A "best buddies" set with Origins, Wolverine, Logan, Deadpool 1 and 2 would be awesome. I could at least see old FOX re-realising them with recycled discs.

I’d take The Wolverine in UHD but as far as Origins is concerned I would just as soon take the opening war Sequence of Origins in UHD as a extra on The Wolverine Disc and that would satisfy my Wolverine UHD desires

The thing about Origins is, that it looks very cheap and weird.
When I first watched on DVD, I didn't have much issue, but looking on Blu-ray, it really shows how lame and cheap the special effect/CGI look.
Wolverine claws look like it belongs on TV series, than theatrical movie.
There were few good effects, but overall it really look awkward.
I did not get to see that movie in theater (not that there were that many good movie in 2009), but I would have felt more awkward; strangely (and tragically) it still looks better than most effects on DCEU movies (sort of). lol
Regardless, I still wouldn't mind getting 4K UHD for sake of collection and completion.

These Fox X-Men universe films are never coming back out imo, it's just the way it is. Disney is not going to put out catalogue titles for Fox stuff let alone their own stuff anymore. When Fox was still Fox they managed to get all the proper X-Men films out on UHD except the first two Wolverine films or the Rogue Cut, which tells me they just didn't want to, even with Logan and Dark Phoenix which could have boosted sales. To add insult to injury DOFP got a 2k upscale UHD yet Rogue Cut was just ignored, but was put on streaming later in UHD quality. They had plenty of time but just didn't care to do it.

Disney merger did caused halt on Fox catalogue, which is such a shame; not surprising, since it's business.
It also doesn't help that Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants got mostly lackluster reception and sales on home video.
Hopefully, Deadpool & Wolverine, along with potential MCU X-Men reboot (or possible appearance in Avengers 5) would gain enough demand for potential release or re-issue.
