Another rumor floating around is that button remapping at the OS level would be in that update (like switching the roles of bumpers and triggers).

Is that something people actually want? (not dissing it, just never heard about that before)

I dont think thats anything people have wanted and I have a hard time believing that this will be released

Well, according to Wario it works in game too (as in it's not just an OS feature), and given the reactions on Gaf (like the third coming or something), I was a bit surprised...

I think it will be based on the image Mavrick posted. It looks like it is an accessibility option. I can't think of a reason why adjusting button assignments would be helpful though.

[Accessibility] has been added to [Settings]. You can adjust accessibility settings such as zooming and button assignments.

The only use for the button remapping I can see is that consoles from Japan have and interchanged and is hardwired to the console. And since most limited editions only get released in Japan, it might be there way of saying

Now, it is cool, yes.

But unless they give you the option to create profiles easily swappable, I don't see that really as an option to customize each game individually to your preferences (with the possible aside of X and O for Jap imports, and the people who would swap Triggers and Numpers in every game).

Some peeps say that on Vita you can do this in a profile -per game-. Now this would indeed be a lot more on point for gaming, but I'm not sure this is what we are getting here (it's apparently listed under "accessibility").

While it's nice to see this info, NDA's are there for a reason. I could see them shutting down the program over stuff like this.

I don't see why they aren't more open about it in the first place. They should be more transparent and set up a system like Microsoft has with the early versions on xbox one.

I don't disagree. It's not like any features shown so far are groundbreaking and need to be kept a secret.

I find it funny that as soon as one person leaks there's all of a sudden a whole bunch of other people posting too trying to get in on the fame

It wouldn't surprise me if Sony "leaked" it themselves to build up some free publicity and hype, which gaf loves doing a great job of!

Friend in PS4 firmware beta: "Greatness has arrived. PS4 took the best parts of Vita's OS and polished a lot of things. - Some small things here and there. Increased character count for profile "introduction". New tutorial section in the whats new section."

I wonder how they select their participants for the MVP program. I remember several years ago when I first heard about it. I submitted an application, and I remember it was a pretty lengthy form too, but I never heard back.

The Vita sure is due for a UI refresh. I hate the bubbles.

When I became a PlayStation MVP member I had to fill out an application and write a short essay about my experiences gaming.
