Yep, even if the final battle becomes a team-up scenario I absolutely feel that in order for the film to land (this very likely being the last in the Monsterverse), one monster should be definitively defeated.

Godzilla caught the female Muto by surprise so blasting her was easy. He's not going to sneak up on Kong. Even in their first battle Kong got blasted in the face and he just scratched his smoldering head and lived to defeat him. There's no doubt the ultimate "weapon" belongs to Godzilla but Kong's intelligence is a huge "weapon " as well.

Looking forward to this showdown, hopefully they keep the butchered “lead” characters to a minimum, or at least more interesting, but we’ll see.

With Kong, I’d be shocked if we didn’t see at least some of the accoutrements from the toy leaks to balance things out. Then again, arguing the semantics of fictional giant monster strength isn’t exactly top priority with this movie in my view. I just want to see...something soon.

So what would you guys prefer:

1. One definitive winner (maybe with 2 different fight scenes)
2. Vague winner/Neutral ending (most other fight movies lol)
3. Awesome fight where they have team up to fight a common enemy (BvS)

I'm assuming we'd all want 1, but there's not too many movies where that would make sense, especially if they want to continue both franchises

Thanks to the Godzilla vs. Kong prequel graphic novel, we can now confirm that Dr. Houston Brooks is another character that will be making an appearance in the story. Dr. Brooks was portrayed by Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) in Kong: Skull Island. The Seismologist was on the expeditionary team that first traveled to Skull Island, hoping to map the pathways into the mysterious world Brooks theorized exists near the Earth's core. After surviving the encounter with Kong and the island's horrific beasts, Brooks joined up with Monarch, to help track the Titan phenomenon. Source
