Simple, Double dip money. Sell as many copies of the theatrical version without telling anyone that an extended is coming. Then announce an extended cut(or SnyderCut ) later in the year. Seeing as how dissapointing this performed, it makes perfect sense to milk it for as much as possible.

But WB is also doing this with IT. The Director said that there was going to be a directors cut. Then one never got announced. After that he came out and reiterated that one was still coming. Probably later this year, or before part II gets released.

Lol. When did they say one wasnt coming? WB hasnt said a word about this movie since it came out. Except for a bunch of restructuring, and the blu-ray press release. Considering that there is likely an hour or more of deleted scenes, many of them with finished VFX, I would(and have) put money on the fact that there will be an extended cut. There is money to be made. Whether or not the SnyderCut gets released is still up for debate, but there will be some form of extended edition.

The reason for not announcing it before this release is to get as many people to buy this one as possible. With its poor performance, it is a safe bet that more people would just wait for the extended cut and not buy the theatrical. So they put a couple of Return of Superman deleted scenes on the disk to entice those of us on the fence, then will announce the extended later. Plus it makes sense to re-release before Aquaman comes out in December.

That’s what he’s saying. Disney has the ugly banners that take up the tops and bottoms on their blurays now. It’s nice to be able to simply peel it off and not have it permanently displayed on the cover.

The 4k HDR on this is really good, but it also exposes the keying in the background (like Ragnarok) even more. The scenes at the end with the red skies look pretty good tbf at times.

I don't know about everyone else, but after watching this in 4K and even in the VUDU stream this one looks like it would absolutely POP in 3D. I'm going to pick this up on 3D Blu-ray when the price is right!!!

Can’t decide whether to blind buy this or not. What is the general consensus here as far as the better movie: this or Suicide Squad. Reason I ask is they both seem to have gotten poor reviews, and I even liked SS. If this is considered better, I assume I will like it.

Suicide Squad is unwatchable garbage. Justice League is... average. Obviously a very troubled production but miles better than SS.

I like and own SS, but I dislike JL. So, I recommend either passing this one up or renting it.

Really enjoyed JL but I also liked SS but not as much. I think it takes a lot of grief (rightfully so in some aspects) but it still was entertaining to me.

I have the 4K steelbook from BB coming in the mail should be here on Tuesday most likely was hoping to get it a day earlier but don't think that is going to happen really liking the comic book cover art for the 4K steelbook though.

PQ picked up as the movie progessed. Quality seems to depend on the source in the way scenes were captured, with some indoor scenes looking exquisite to others, most notably with heavy green screen,losing sharpness and depth.
Id say it’s comparable to batman v superman, with hdr being the standout, especially end sequence. It’s much cleaner than SS even in low light scenes. If you loved the look and quality of BvS, then you can expect the same here. Many demo worthy scenes thanks to hdr and sonic impact of the audio track.

If you didn't like BvS or SS, then you should stay far away from JL.
