This UHD presentation was Aces. My 3 year old Son watched the film for the first time last night. Was totally into it which made watching it even cooler.

Had a chance to view this in it's entirety. Outside of the missing mono theatrical track, this is how you do a classic film in 4K. Looked absolutely fantastic with tons of detail. Technicolor 35mm and 4K with it's Wide Color Gamut and HDR are truly a match made in heaven.

oh and it looks a lot more amazing, at least the laser showing I saw, than anything on caps-aholic, the dramatic sparkle doesn't show there and the color saturation and richness are totally missing from those caps, lots of colors are beyond sRGB gamut, also some of the scenes there were OOF or gauze shot scenes and those ones won't show more actual detail, but plenty in the movie are in focus and not "gauze type" shots and actually do (and even the ones that don't, still the wide gamut colors and even the fine grain and so on). (of course I am also assuming that the UHD disc would look as good as what I saw at Dolby Cinema since I've only had a few second peek at the disc as of yet) and the black levels won't look amazing on some IPS PC screen or what not compared to the laser system Last edited by WBMakeVMarsMovieNOW; 11-02-2019 at 04:05 AM. |

They look absolutely nothing like how the movie looks like on my setup. And it has nothing to do with HDR/SDR. I was ready to hate it due to contrast and elevated blacks, hence my previous comments, but it actually looks incredible. No issues whatsoever and a huge upgrade over the Blu. Capsaholics is running a fraud, their screenshots are horrible. I wish that site would close.

Arrived today. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Keep your crummy slipcover and send me my movies in a jewel case without f**king holes cut in it.
And has anyone noticed the slip cases on some movies have gotten looser fitting? So now they're a little bulkier on the shelf, but I don't trust the crummy eco boxes not to damage the artwork without them... |

In this case, the caps don't show the rich color since sRGB clips and changes it and most will also view them on an IPS LCD or such and not see the rich blacks and in this case it really does make a big difference. Also, this movie has a few OOF shots and some purposeful dreamy gauze shots and when only a few caps are presented you may not get a true sense of how much does look much more detailed. I do still like capsaholic, but you do have to use every piece of info you get with caution and be careful about assumptions. |

![]() An aside--I've bought a couple of early Blu-Ray titles the last year or so, and even the Elites a'int what they used to be. Those early-pressing Elite cases are nice... |

You know, with how hard it is to find 4K Blu-ray cases and the horror stories about Casetopia's slow shipping (needing to start a dispute with Paypal before they even start), I might just replace my broken 4K cases with Blu-ray cases. I mean, they're still Blu-rays and the spine will still say 4K.
