never contacted them, got mine a week ago and just opened it, seems to get past minute 5 now without manual coaxing, will see if the entire disc is OK or not soon (my original copy was simply a bad pressing on top of the 5 minute error, it froze up at other parts and couldn't past a disc verification checker)

Mine failed verification as well and I'm sure it was the case with all discs. BD#2 was a bad pressing in general I think.

Did they spend more time designing what's on the box than what went in the disc?

LOL. For 40-50 bills it better look like something I can hang in a museum. Smells like Vinegar in here aight.

Last week, I emailed VS and told them that I was experiencing the glitch on my 4K UHD and sent them a screenshot. They sent me a replacement disc which I received Sunday. Unfortunately, the replacement disc has the exact same glitch. I sent them an email today telling them that my 4K UHD replacement disc has the exact same glitch and this was their response:

"Unfortunately, this might be an issue with your player that we are not able to really do anything about. Some players are having issues playing these 4K discs for some reason. We sent a replacement that worked for us.

Thanks,
VS"

So, I guess I dropped $37+ for a defective UHD and I'm SOL?

well at least this solves the question of whether some UHD discs don't do that glitch

in the end it's not that big of a deal, it's just like a couple seconds at non-critical point out of a two hour long movie (and will work on at least a few playback chains)

VS could be right, there may be an issue with your player, if both discs are having the same glitch. If they've already sent you one replacement, they're not going to keep sending you replacement discs, if there's nothing wrong with them. What is it doing?

Out of curiosity, can you post the matrix #’s of your original and replacement disc? Or just verify that the #’s are different? If they’re the same I’d mention that to VS.

I received an email from VS that I was getting a replacement disc with a tracking # that didn't work.

Took 18 days to get here thanks to our destroyed USPS.

Some players have more memory than others for layer changes and some players have better error correction than other players. Certain DVDs and Blu-rays I have that couldn't play well on a certain player plays fine on another. It's not often but it happens. And I know, it sucks when it happens.

Just speculation...this UHD Blu-ray may be at the threshold of what is acceptable to meet the standards of UHD Blu-rays.

For CDs, the standard to meet was RedBook. I don't know what it would be called for Blu-ray or even UHD Blu-ray. Standards by the way can even mean the reflectivity of a disc itself among many other things.

That's very nice of them. I wonder when the new batch will be pressed and for what release. Possibly a standard UHD Blu-ray release?
