SE-1 (cheaper than the 10s and again excellent reviews)

Doesn't the SE-1 have the same tweeter as the studio line?

If I'm overly impressed with them I'll go the new route...if I'm "ok" with them I'm going 100s v2.

If anyone has some objections and or suggestions feel free to comment.
Is that USD or CAD?

Studio 20s were 1050$ CANADIAN. Salesman is getting back to me to confirm he can do that price.

i also found some demo or used Studio 60s v4 for 975$ but the store won't ship :-(

Seems like a very good price. Let us know if that works out.

Where are you located? I'm thinking of selling my 20's, there're too much speaker for surround backs. I would like to get something smaller like the 10's so I can mount them higher on a self instead of on stands. I also have the J29 stands which I would sell with the 20's. They are V5 and rosenut finish.

Considering the price of the Studio20 .v5 plus stands, I would definitely leaning toward the Studio 60 v.5. ($1600).IMO

Stands I have...where do you get a price of 1600$?? Gibby's still has them at 2400+tx and the store I visited on Saturday had them at 2400 also.

Still 1600$ is out of my range.

Best i've seen so far is used at 700$ and new at over 1k (for the 20s)

Try to get in touch with Oliver Fragman at La Boutique Electronique (Montreal West). Your prices may varies (very little I hope)depending on the relationship with the rep.

WOW you weren't kidding. Their prices are great!

Damn .. they don't have the 20s in stock so they'd need to be ordered.

Now it's decision making time lol 100v2 or 20v5.

The 60s are out of my range. No matter how hard I try.

Wow...who would have thunk it. I don't remember what I paid for mine but it certainly wasn't that cheap.

Take your time in your decision and make sure you're certain before you pull the trigger.
Either way you win though.

yeah I've been researching this stuff to death. In the end it's going to be a blind buy. I can't really hear what the 100s will do and the store doesn't have the 20s for me to compare with anything else.

I'm pretty much going on reviews and people's opinions.

If I get the hundreds I'll have a 7.1 setup:

590v4 center
100v2 mains
40v2 sides
20v2 rears
2x SVS PB12s

if I get the 20s I'll have a 5.1 setup (get rid of the 40s while I still can for future upgrades)...but my front sound stage is all NEW :-)

590v4 center
20v5 mains
20v2 rear/sides
2x SVS PB12s

Yeah...it''s just they are two very different speakers. 100s v2 and the 20s v5.
How will the 100s sound with the 590 v4 vs. the 20s?

Yeah I'll send an email tonight.

To me...100s ...Top of the Line at the time..nothing better this was their flagship model and everything they knew got poured into them. If they sound better than my 40 which I already like then it's great.

20s..new state of the art..perfect match to my center. BUT not flagship, bottom of the food chain.

If I go hundreds I'm done...if I go 20s I've got the rears to replace too.

I think I need to find 100v4s for 1000$ lol Then I'm FINISHED!!

Thanks for all the help guys.

Nick

PS ACES High if you're selling let me know.

Wow, bottom of the food chain. The 10s and 20s are a stunning speaker for anyone. To me, you have to spend more than 3.5 grand to really start to hear the difference.

The Studio line V5 is basically very very close to the Signature Series V1.

My 100s (V5) are simply the best speakers I have heard without going above $6K.

I haven't decided yet but if I do the stands would have to be included. I don't want to have to sell just a pair of stands. Let me think about it tonight and I'll pm you tommorrow, or pm me with your offer. I'm in Ottawa, so your not that far away.

Ryan (or anyone else for that matter), would it be fair to say that the 20s sound same/similar as the the 60s with less bottom end capability?

Sorry guys I should have worded it differently...bottom in the Studio Tier..meaning book > Towers. I love towers is all but really don't need them

I'm not getting the 100s. Going with the new technology and sophistication of the new models and seems like 20s it is! The more I looked into the price of the 100s the more I found guys getting them for cheaper years ago.
