well, for some odd reason, i have always wanted to create a criterion cover. there is something about the way that they look, i don't know. anyway, i was bored tonight and finally took the challenge. figured i would give the blues brothers the criterion touch.

edit: shit, lol, i just noticed i put a space in the word portrait in the special features, lol. gotta fix it now. lol

I like it! One suggestion: Criterion often uses original TTs; you need "Goudy Old Style" for the original Blues Brothers TT, and that might help tighten it a bit.

Some people just like the style (which is often minimalist and/or uses imagery directly from the films themselves) that Criterion uses for many of their covers. No need to get into a huff about it, especially since it's been argued ad nauseam in the past.

I think its pretty much what Thomas Guycott is saying, the minimalist and/or imagery directly from the film. It's simple and not all over the place. Almost clean looking.

i do not understand people's obsessions with the criterion covers as well, but i can see some OCD people needing it all looking the same style on a shelf, lol.

sure, if you want it. its set up for the 15mm spine. i will give anyone my creations if they want them. i only make them for fun when i'm bored.

how about this one for a custom that i mashed together? lol. i hear what you are saying, i think the same thing when i see some creations. but, to each their own i guess. i like to try and come up with something unique, if i can.
