I think the point of half of these is that the "official poster/promo imagery simply with some of the text edited out and then ran through Imandix Coverpro" would have been far better than what got released by the studios in the first place.

Has anyone made any freely-available-to-public covers for the Friday the 13th Collection?

Ones that match the Collection set (ie; one cover for Friday 5 & 6, one cover for 7 & 8). Please get in touch any spine size is fine.

There was someone a few weeks back who posted custom cover art for 4, 5-6, and 7-8. They haven't done one for the final 2 films. You just need to search this thread and then PM them.

For those who DO enjoy the faux-Criterions... here are a few that I've done. My intention with them is to have a cohesive
shelf of my all-time favorite films, I know they're not for everyone, but I guess that doesn't really matter as long as
we are all happy with our collections. For anyone who is interested in any of these, just let me know and I'll send the full-res
versions to you.

I'm also working on a few others that I would be happy to post if there is interest in them.

901 - Into the Wild

906 - Watership Down – created for the German release, not sure if it will fit the specs for other releases.

911 - Angels In America

912 - Les amours imaginaires (Heartbeats)
914 - East of Eden
915 - Rebel Without a Cause
916 - Giant
918 - Après lui
922 - Laurence Anyways

The following are no longer available as I accidentally deleted the original files.
900 - The Kings of Summer
904 - J'ai tue ma mère
907 - Brokeback Mountain

Ok, so if anyone can help me out here, you would save me from a few gray hairs. I have a custom cover that one of hte users has provided me with, I bought a case (this is to replace the awful omen collection box), and I bought the hp brochure paper. I downloaded UndercoverXP. and I am completely friggin lost. The cover comes out too small, I tried following the instructions on the printing covers thread, but I can't figure out how to 'resize' to the proper specifications. Can someone help me out? PM or something as to not derail this thread?

I found entering my own size was a better option. Open UndercoverXP, open the Format Editor and Click 'ADD'

Enter in the size you want depending on the size of the case.. basically measure an existing cover that fits and copy that size. Do a couple of test prints to make sure it fits, and adjust accordingly.

Excellent work for sure.

My only issue is, if you want to make it consistent with Criterion, the back is never part of the front artwork, meaning for the outer cover the front never overlaps to the back. It's always a singular color (unless I'm wrong).

I think a lot of the ones you made especially the blues brothers, would look amazing if you put that as the internal artwork.

One could make an exception for Into the Wild, but perhaps that probably looks better inside?

Well, some of us choose do do a cover because the studio didn't use the original poster/promo imagery and instead replaced it with some new/ugly image. For example:

You can if you put it in a regular case.

I prefer the new covers of Event horizon and Papillon. The new cover for Groundhog Day is awful.

Some of us would rather have the official poster or promo art because the initial release covers were awful.

Also, for a lot of movies it's extremely difficult to find stock photos of the actual film itself, that you could theoretically use to create a custom cover, especially finding them in high quality to where you aren't restricted to a certain size.

I was lucky enough to make my own 2001 cover from finding a beautiful satellite photo of planet Earth and then using my own touch ups on it.

Citizen Kane is a movie I felt would not be justified in me drawing up a Criterion scribble style cover. It deserved a stock photo or promotional poster as a cover.

A scribble style spontaneous cover would not do Citizen Kane justice, nor fit the movie.
